This state of inner stillness is not easily attained; it requires a process of deep purification. To truly face your life, you must hold a sincere vow within your heart. This vow is the foundation of your practice.
When you are willing to take responsibility for your actions and commit to changing your ways, you begin to shift your karmic trajectory. You must be willing to:
Even when you encounter setbacks, you must be willing to face them directly without retreating. If you face slander or accusations, you should remain calm and free from anger, understanding that your heart is the source of your peace.
When you face physical pain or illness, use this as an opportunity for deep repenting. Invite spirits to listen to the , perform , and sincerely change your ways. Because your Ultimate Vow to reach the Western Pure Land remains firm, you will be able to endure any difficulty that arises.
In every moment of hardship, let the Buddha-name of enter your heart and ears. When you chant continuously, your skills will mature, and your concentration will deepen.
