Faithfully accepting and practising the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra) is the key to achieving Buddhahood. This sutra is the supreme treasure for all who seek the path of the Buddha. It provides the essential map for the journey toward enlightenment, ensuring that one who follows its guidance will not be led astray.
To truly understand what it means to "faithfully accept and practise," we must look at the depth of these three components:
The phrase "faithfully accept and practise" is the final instruction given by Shakyamuni Buddha at the conclusion of the forty-eight chapters of this great sutra. It was his final, earnest, and most profound exhortation to all beings who heard his voice.
The beauty of the path is that it is designed to cover all capacities. Whether you are a practitioner of high, middle, or lower spiritual capacity, this method is capable of embracing you. You do not need to master complex Buddhist terminology or deep, philosophical concepts to succeed.
The core of this sutra is simple and direct. It is the practice of: "arouse the Bodhi mind and single-mindedly recite Namo Amituofo." If you can faithfully accept and practise this, and if you can keep the name of Namo Amituofo in your heart and on your lips, you will receive all the benefits of this sutra. This leads directly to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss and the attainment of Buddhahood in a single lifetime.
Shakyamuni Buddha spent forty-nine years delivering sentient beings. During this time, he taught many different methods, each tailored to the specific spiritual capacity of the beings he encountered. For those who wished to walk the and eventually become a Buddha, he taught the path to Buddhahood. This sutra, which introduces Namo Amituofo and the Western Pure Land, is one of the most vital methods he shared with the world.
Many who follow this path are Bodhisattvas who have come to demonstrate the way to Buddhahood for the sake of others. Others are those who have worked hard in past lives but have not yet achieved rebirth. For those who now possess the necessary , , and , this lifetime is the perfect opportunity to complete the journey.
At this very moment, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Namo Amituofo truly abides. We hope that all who hear these words will come to seek the . This is the perfect time and place for those who possess the Roots of Goodness, Blessings, and Karmic Conditions to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Do not let this precious opportunity pass you by.
