The Unshakable Power of Meditative Concentration
When a practitioner develops true meditative concentration, their state of mind becomes unshakable. Regardless of how the physical body may move or what external circumstances arise, the heart remains perfectly still. This stillness is not merely a personal achievement; it is the very capacity to save beings. When you are not swayed by the environment, you gain the power to transform it. This is the mark of a true practitioner who has mastered the art of remaining unmoved amidst the chaos of the world.
The Heart as the Source of Peace
Whether you feel at peace or in turmoil, the source of this state is always the heart. When the heart is at peace, and spirit are also balanced and free from illness. Conversely, when the heart is restless, the body and spirit struggle to find equilibrium, which inevitably leads to the onset of aging and disease. Therefore, you must guard your heart with the utmost care, for it is the foundation of your entire existence.
The of the Forty-eight Great Vows
The Forty-eight Great Vows of Namo Amituofo are expressions of boundless compassion. Every single vow is made with the singular hope that all beings may leave suffering behind. Namo Amituofo wishes for you to find liberation within this peace and to be saved through this profound sense of security. It is the Buddha's deepest desire to save all sentient beings, to help you fulfil your aspirations, and to ensure that no being remains trapped in the cycle of suffering. The ultimate goal is for all to be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss.
Escaping the Cycle of Samsara
Beings are constantly cycling through the six realms of existence, enduring suffering that is beyond words. Yet, because they are accustomed to this cycle, they do not realise that there is an alternative. They do not know of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. If you can come to know of this Pure Land, you will begin to understand the true nature of your suffering. You will develop a genuine longing to leave suffering behind. Once you recognise that this world is like a burning house, you will naturally seek the path to liberation and wish to be reborn in the Western Pure Land.
The 's Path and Buddha-actions
When you have a clear direction and a reliable refuge, you are already on the path to leaving suffering behind and finding peace. The world is often characterised by the suffering of beings consuming one another; it continues to grow and consume beings without pause. If you are unaware of this, you will remain trapped, and the cycle of the laws of and cause and effect will continue without end. Once you understand this, you must act quickly to distance yourself from such negative patterns.
- Bodhisattvas fear the cause of suffering, so they avoid creating negative seeds.
- Ordinary beings only fear the result of suffering, which is often too late to change.
- Stopping the creation of negative causes is the path of the Bodhisattva.
- Acting with the understanding that all things are empty, yet lacking nothing, is the path of the Buddha.
Maintaining the Buddha-name
No matter what challenges you face, you must keep the Buddha-name continuous in your mind. By ensuring that chanting then becomes a continuous, flowing stream that never stops, you will find true peace. Through this peace of mind, you will leave suffering behind and be saved. If your heart is not yet peaceful, you will experience fluctuations; if your heart is not yet settled, fear will arise. When you encounter these moments of turbulence or fear, you must look within to understand the cause. If you identify the cause, you must stop it immediately and cease creating further negative karma. If you have already created suffering, you must repent, resolve the conflict, invite the spirits, and perform to help them.
A Life of Buddha-actions
The bitter fruit arises from the bitter cause. You must change your personality and habits, for if you do not, the causes of suffering will remain, and you will not be able to avoid the bitter consequences. Do not disturb your ; instead, live in a way that allows you to be at peace and free from fear. Keep Namo Amituofo in your thoughts at all times, never leaving the Buddha. Practise Generosity and perform good deeds to cultivate both and wisdom. To move forward directly for the sake of all beings, without counting the cost of your own suffering, is to manifest the actions of a Buddha in the human world. In this way, all beings can be saved within this peace and be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
