Following the Buddha’s Every Action
Words of Namo Amituofo
My children, are you willing to follow Namo Amituofo in this world to save the countless suffering beings? In this human world, which serves as the dwelling place for all, we must transcend the boundaries that often divide us. Regardless of nationality, language, region, or geography, and regardless of race, skin colour, religion, or the land upon which we stand, we must learn to respect and communicate with one another with an open heart.
The Foundation of Oneness
We must base our interactions on the perspective of oneness. We must recognise the inherent true self, the Buddha-nature, and the principle of equality that resides within every living being. By honouring the customs and cultures of others, we create a harmonious environment where the seeds of the can take root. It is our duty to promote Buddhist education so that everyone may come to understand the fundamental truths of our existence:
- The laws of and cause and effect: Understanding that every action has a consequence.
- The Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way: Aligning our lives with the natural order of the universe.
- The reality of , attached spirits, and even demon crowds: Recognising the unseen influences that affect our daily lives.
It is of the utmost importance that we cultivate the next generation. We must nurture children to possess good character, balancing with wisdom, and ensuring they grow up to be gentle, polite, and virtuous individuals.
Mastering the Tools of the Modern Age
In this digital era, we must learn to be the masters of our tools rather than their servants. We must skilfully use technology, the internet, and mobile phones, ensuring that these instruments serve our spiritual growth rather than distracting us from it. Furthermore, we must educate the public on the nature of demons. By understanding what they are, we can learn to subdue them through the power of the Dharma, rather than falling under their control.
The Path of Propagation
How do we spread this vital education? We do so through consistent practice and dedication:
- Listen to sutras and hear the Dharma: This is the primary method for people to recognise and understand the depth of Buddhist education.
- Giving lectures: This is the method for promoting the Dharma, helping everyone to know Namo Amituofo and the of Ultimate Bliss.
- Utilising the temple: The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre serves as the sacred ground for propagating the Dharma.
Through the Three Jewels—the Buddha, the Teachings, and the Sangha Community—we educate the public. We help them to chant Namo Amituofo and to make the sincere vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Healing , Mind, and Spirit
We also offer spiritual healing to treat the suffering caused by karma, the interference of karmic creditors, and the inevitable realities of aging, sickness, and death. This comprehensive approach includes:
- Inviting spirits to hear the Dharma.
- Resolving conflicts through compassion and understanding.
- Holding Dharma Assemblies to perform for those in need.
By introducing Namo Amituofo and the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, we provide a spiritual refuge for people to rely upon. Furthermore, by changing personality traits, one can cultivate a healthy and noble character.
If the fourfold assembly of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are those who follow the Buddha’s every action, I ask you to strive for purification at this very moment. By rediscovering your true self, you are not only saving yourself but also saving others. This is the noble act of following the Buddha’s every action to save the world. Namo Amituofo.
