From Skeptic to Resident of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Huang Wenjia, the father of Lay Practitioner Huang Shenglan, who attained rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss through the deliverance of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He reflects upon his transition from a non-believer to a resident of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on May 30, 2025.

Huang Wenjia speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. My dear wife and daughters, your father has arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! I am currently right by the side of Namo Amituofo. It is truly incredible—whenever I open my eyes or even just think of Namo Amituofo, I can see Him instantly. Being in the presence of Namo Amituofo gives me such profound peace of mind, a sense of security I have never known before."

Life Within the Lotus

"I am currently residing within a magnificent, giant lotus flower here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. At any moment, I can catch the sweet, refreshing fragrance of the lotus. It is a scent that purifies the very heart.

Although I can no longer be physically present with you, please know that I am doing wonderfully. I have absolutely no afflictions, no worries, and my body feels light and healthy. Everything I have attained here, I owe to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su. I am also deeply grateful to my daughter, Shenglan, for her willingness to believe in the Buddha and to trust that the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss truly exists. Without her faith, I would never have been able to reach such a magnificent, glorious world."

A World of Golden Light

"I find myself smiling constantly now. I spend my time gazing at the golden trees that shimmer with light and listening to the soothing, cool waters of the Eight Meritorious Virtues. Every single beauty you could imagine is present in the world where I now reside.

I know that everything I am telling you might sound almost too beautiful to be true, but I assure you, these are things I have seen with my own eyes. I was never a person who followed the Buddha, nor was I someone who would speak untruths. I am simply sharing my genuine experience with you now. My only purpose in speaking is to let more people know that the Buddha and the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss are absolutely real."

A Message of Faith to My Family

"Right now, I have no afflictions at all. My daily life consists of chanting Namo Amituofo and following Him to learn the Dharma properly. My dear wife and daughters, although I cannot be by your side, I truly hope that you can believe in the Buddha and begin to chant Namo Amituofo. I have found such profound peace through my faith in the Buddha, and I wish for you to experience that same peace. This is the only gift I can offer you now: to bring the Buddha into your heart.

When you think of me now, do not just feel longing or sadness. Instead, think of me as having become a Buddha. I know you will be happy for me, and I truly hope that you are all doing well.

I am so grateful for your companionship throughout this lifetime; I have been very blessed. I wish you all the very best.
