This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Yi Mingjian, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the suffering of the hells to the of the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on May 1, 2026.
Lay Practitioner Yi Mingjian speaks:
". I am Yi Mingjian. I have finally arrived in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and my mouth cannot stop chanting, 'Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo.' As I listen to the incredibly melodious music here, I find myself humming the Buddha-name continuously. My heart feels so vast and expansive—I have never, in all my existence, felt such a sense of profound ease and lightness."
A Transformation Beyond Words
"It feels as if I have suddenly become much younger, and it is truly the case. Since arriving here, everyone’s face has become so much more youthful. It is as if we have returned to the most handsome version of our younger selves, yet we appear far more dignified and radiant than we ever did in the human world. Even the women appear as men; we all look quite similar, without the heavy discriminations that once defined us. This is the world of equality established by Namo Amituofo. I am moved beyond words and filled with such immense gratitude. I have knelt before Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su to report my arrival and express my deepest thanks. I also wish to share this joyous news with my family in the human world: I have truly arrived in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is all real, and it is not an illusion. The ground here is vast and stretches out like the colour of pure gold; I am glowing and shining, and I can feel the fragrance of lotus flowers emanating from my entire being."
The Miraculous Journey from the Hells
"To travel from the to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss—it only took a single second. Although I do not fully understand the specific distance, the mysteries of space are truly profound. When the Buddha is present, everything is possible. Although I did not have a deep understanding of the Buddha’s teachings while I was alive, during my time in the Western -Nature Land, I was baptised and purified every single day by the lectures of Practitioner Su. My entire being became clear and transparent, my mind-capacity expanded, and I felt a sense of peace that I had never known before.
I truly hope that my family in the human world can experience this state of mind that I have now. Speaking of this, I must express my deepest gratitude to my child. My wonderful child found the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and arranged for my Chao Du. If it were not for that, I would still be suffering through the agonising tortures of hell at this very moment."
The Weight of
"It has been ten years. In the hells, there was never a moment where the suffering ceased. Those ten years were truly filled with such extreme agony that I do not even wish to recall them now. But that pain, like ten thousand arrows piercing the heart—when I think of it now, I realise it was simply the result of the sins I had committed throughout my many lives. Combined with the I created in this current life, specifically through the actions I took while I was a father, I attracted the from my past. Naturally, I could not escape the retribution of hell. It is all part of the natural order. Whenever Practitioner Su speaks of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, this is exactly what he means."
A Message of Hope and Warning
"I never imagined that I would end up in such a state, but now that I have been given this opportunity for rebirth, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. I bow to everyone here to express my thanks and appreciation. I sincerely wish for my family who are still in the world to have the opportunity to study the Buddha’s teachings in a down-to-earth way. I hope you can all visit the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to see for yourselves what a true Pure Land on Earth looks like. When you come here, your hearts will feel settled and at peace. Knowing that the human body is merely an illusion, please, let go of your attachments sooner and chant the Buddha-name to be reborn in the Western Pure Land! Namo Amituofo."
