The term "fulfilling vows to save beings" carries a profound and sacred meaning. To understand this, we must look at the individual components of the phrase. "Fulfilling" refers to the complete and perfect realisation of a promise. "Vows" refers to the great, solemn pledges made by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas during their initial stages of practice. Finally, "saving beings" refers to the compassionate act of rescuing all sentient beings from the cycle of suffering.
Therefore, to fulfil one's vows to save beings is to manifest the various actions of rescue that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas perform to honour the great pledges they made when they first embarked upon the path of practice. It is the active, living expression of their infinite .
Consider the example of Namo Amituofo. Through the Forty-eight Great Vows, Namo Amituofo sought to save all boundless suffering sentient beings. Every single one of these vows has been achieved, and through this success, the of Ultimate Bliss was established. For ten kalpas, Namo Amituofo has been working tirelessly to save immeasurable and boundless suffering beings, guiding them into the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This is the ultimate manifestation of fulfilling vows to save beings. It is a continuous, eternal process of rescue that transcends time and space, ensuring that every being who has the faith and the vow to return home can find refuge in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
In our current time, we see this same spirit of compassionate action manifesting right here in Australia. At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, located in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Practitioner Su has made a great vow to follow in the footsteps of Namo Amituofo to save suffering beings.
With the assistance of Namo Amituofo, Practitioner Su has established the Western Land of Nature. Under the constant blessing and guidance of Namo Amituofo, this centre has been able to save immeasurable and boundless suffering beings from their pain, provide spiritual deliverance to those who have been lost in the cycle of rebirth, guide even the demon crowds toward the path of , and help all these beings enter the Western Land of Dharma Nature, where they may find peace and liberation. These are all concrete, tangible actions of fulfilling vows to save beings. It is a living testament to the power of the Buddha's compassion manifesting in our world today.
Saving beings in this Five Turbidities and Evil World is not an easy task. It is difficult because every sentient being carries heavy , which acts as a barrier to their own liberation. However, in this very era, to be able to encounter the teaching master of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss—Namo Amituofo—who truly abides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, is a truly magnificent and rare occurrence.
We hope that all who hear these words will cherish this opportunity. While Namo Amituofo is truly abiding in this world, you should come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to pay homage to the Buddha and seek the Dharma, practise diligently, purify your body, mind, and spirit, and make the firm vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Follow the footsteps of Namo Amituofo in saving beings, rediscovering your own true self, and helping others to save themselves. If you can do this, you will undoubtedly reap a harvest of wisdom and peace that will last for eternity. Namo Amituofo.
