Inner stability refers to a state of the heart that is calm, secure, and profoundly settled. It is not merely a fleeting emotion but a true condition of the heart, achieved through the concerted efforts of our body, mind, and spirit working in harmony.
For those living in this age of the ’s decline, within the Five Turbidities and Evil World, life is often defined by impermanence. Our thoughts and intentions fluctuate incessantly, like waves upon the ocean. In such a volatile environment, the heart follows the external world, rising and falling with every change. We are constantly pulled by the desires of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep, seeking satisfaction in things that can never truly fulfil us.
Because these desires are rooted in the nature of impermanence, they offer no lasting peace. There is no end to this pursuit, and no point at which one feels truly satisfied. Consequently, our body, mind, and spirit remain in a state of constant unrest and instability.
However, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, we find a different reality. This is a place where Namo Amituofo is residing here. The Buddha-light shines everywhere, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, continuously purifying the hearts of all people and the creatures of the earth.
This environment radiates a state of profound serenity. Within this sacred space, practitioners and all beings are shielded from the interference and negative influences of the external world and its endless desires. Here, the heart naturally reveals its inherent quality of being stable, secure, and settled.
When you practise within this environment, you are supported by the power of the Buddha to make steady progress. You can engage in your practice with diligence and persistence:
By maintaining this inner stability, your practice will continue to advance. If you remain steadfast, the time for your own Awakening will surely arrive. Namo Amituofo.
