Interview with Dr. Helmut Sohmen (Former Chairman of BW Group)
Ignorance and dimness shroud the world. The hearts of sentient beings are unsettled, and the world is like a burning house, difficult to endure. As suffering spirits cry out in despair, one must ask: who shall come to their rescue? Given the state of the world, do not sink further into the depths of confusion. Hold firmly to your human body. To leave ignorance behind is the priority; when wisdom is revealed, salvation is attained.
Reflect upon the past. You have been reincarnated countless times, like waves in the ocean that never cease their motion. Where are those waves now? They are illusions, leaving no trace behind. You have been transformed time and again in the ocean of , forgetting your original state. The waves remain, yet they are not as they were. You must awaken; do not remain in ignorance.
It is difficult to obtain a human body. Now that you have heard the name of , you must chant Namo Amituofo to leave ignorance behind. When wisdom is revealed, you will attain Buddhahood. Continue to chant to remove obstacles. In every thought, there is the Buddha; in every heart, there is the Buddha. Your actions will align with the Buddha. When and wisdom are revealed, you will finally reach the state of an awakened being and attain Buddhahood.
What is meant by ignorance? If you hear words of counseling and Goodness but find them difficult to accept, if you reject and doubt them, keeping them at a distance, and consequently suffer the bitter rewards of being reincarnated, you are an ignorant person. If you hear the , you must understand the following:
Therefore, you must leave ignorance behind; revealing wisdom is the essential goal.
Today, Namo Amituofo has descended to the world, entering At Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary, and stands before you. These words of the Buddha serve as a warning not to continue your past mistakes. If you still persist in your old ways, failing to act when you should, you remain in a state of confusion and are unable to awaken. This is the definition of an ignorant person. Days pass, one after another; when will you finally leave ignorance behind? You must engage in diligent practice, moving forward with courage to break through ten thousand difficulties. Face your challenges to remove ten thousand obstacles. When the light of wisdom is revealed, and you have removed all impurities to manifest purity, that is the moment of becoming an awakened being.
