The Sacred Source of Wisdom

The teachings contained within these thirteen volumes are the direct words of Namo Amituofo. Every sentence is imbued with the Buddha’s heart, the Buddha’s vows, and the Buddha’s actions. It is our sincere hope that all who encounter these words will come to understand the Buddha’s heart. In truth, every being is inherently pure and possesses the same nature as the Buddha. However, due to the heavy accumulated throughout your many lives of wandering in the cycle of rebirth, this original nature has become obscured by the darkness of confusion.

Fortunately, the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre has been established in this world to serve as a beacon of light. By following the heart and vows of Namo Amituofo, the Centre carries out the vital work of spiritual . Practitioner Su, who is deeply aware of the needs of all sentient beings, leads the , where countless spirits come forward seeking Chao Du. These teachings, which have been carefully compiled into these volumes, are a testament to the Buddha’s compassionate guidance for the fourfold assembly of disciples.

Where the Buddha Truly Abides

You may ask, where can one find the Buddha’s teachings? They are found here, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, where Namo Amituofo truly abides. I, Namo Amituofo, have been building the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss for ten kalpas. Throughout these ten kalpas, I have never left the Western Pure Land, and I shall never leave it. Today, I also reside at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and I have never left this sacred place. The Buddha’s heart is revealed here, the Buddha’s vows are proclaimed here, and the Buddha’s actions are performed here at every moment. This is truly a temple of the Buddha. Furthermore, the Buddha also resides within the heart of every practitioner who focuses their mind on chanting the name of Namo Amituofo and who strives to embody the Buddha’s vows.

Extinguishing the Fire of Anxiety

These messages are the true words I have spoken during the Thrice Yearning Ceremony at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. In this age of the ’s decline, the hearts of people are restless. Even when they appear calm, they are often hiding a deep sense of uncertainty, or they are forced to pretend that everything is fine. Yet inside, the heart can be like a spark ready to ignite. If that fire of anxiety and confusion is allowed to burn, it will only cause harm to oneself and others. If you are fortunate enough to encounter these teachings, you will find the wisdom to extinguish that fire and resolve your inner turmoil. By single-mindedly reciting the six syllable Name, “Namo Amituofo”, you will find that your thoughts, heart, actions, and vows align with the Buddha. This is the path to purification, the transformation of karma, and the ultimate achievement of rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Necessity of Transforming the Mind

These volumes are a collection of discourses provided by Namo Amituofo in response to the needs of all beings. The mind of a sentient being is vast and varied, encompassing the hearts of all sentient beings in the Dharma realm:

  • Celestial beings and human beings
  • Beings in the ghost realm and the hells
  • Animals and insects
  • The spirits of plants, trees, mountains, and rivers

The purpose of these teachings is to transform the mind of every being. People have become accustomed to living within the influence of the : Greed, Anger, Ignorance, Arrogance, and Doubt; the : Wealth, Sexual Pleasure, Fame, Food, and Sleep; and the Five Aggregates: , , , . We must recognise that every thought and intention we have is a form of karma. Our physical actions, our speech, and our mental processes are all creating karma. Whether it is considered good karma or negative karma, it remains the karma of the six realms of rebirth. We have spent countless lives suffering through birth, aging, sickness, death, and all of these experiences are recorded in our . The laws of karma and cause and effect are clear and precise, and every action is recorded exactly as it occurred.

The Path to True

The goal of Buddhist education is to help you transform your mind and see the truth of reality. This includes understanding the nature of the six realms of rebirth and distinguishing between what is real and what is illusory. To transform your mind, you must follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, while deepening your understanding of Namo Amituofo and the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. In the eyes of many, chanting the Buddha’s name is simply a way to cultivate pure karma. The cause is the chanting, and the result is the attainment of Buddhahood. Therefore, to transform your mind, you must:

  • Recognise the magnificent benefits of chanting the name of Namo Amituofo.
  • Develop the mind and focus exclusively on Namo Amituofo.
  • Understand that your original nature can be rediscovered through diligent practice and purification.

To truly transform your mind, you must move away from the Five Poisons, the Five Desires, and the Five Aggregates. You must enter into the practice of the , the Ten Good Deeds, and the Three Learnings of Precepts, Concentration, and Wisdom. By practising the Six Paramitas—Generosity, Discipline, Patience, Diligence, Meditation, and Wisdom—you will successfully turn your mind away from the cycle of rebirth and towards the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is how you transform your karma into pure practice, moving from the burning house of the three realms into a state where you not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die, entering the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo.
