My dear children, as long as you still draw breath, you have the opportunity to break through your limitations and move forward on the path of practice. Do not let the weight of the past or the uncertainty of the future hold you back. Every moment is a fresh opportunity to align your heart with the Truth.
During your morning walking meditation, as you chant Buddha's name, you should also engage in the practice of . Invite all sentient beings to join you in this recitation, encouraging them to move forward together towards the golden light of . When you perform this, do so without any discriminations or preference. Do not worry about who they are, or where they come from. Regardless of the time or the space you occupy, all beings can receive the Buddha-light and the power of the Buddha-name. Together, you may all move forward towards that radiant golden light.
You must understand that Chao Du is not something that only occurs during a formal assembly. It is a practice that you can carry out at any time and in any place. If you keep the Buddha in your heart, then the Buddha is truly present. If your vows contain the Buddha, then the Buddha is present. My children, when you chant Buddha's name, you are offering a compassionate dedication to all the beings around you. You can chant while you are walking, dedicating the merit to the flowers, the grass, the trees, the insects, the birds, and the very earth beneath your feet. You can chant while you are eating, dedicating the merit to the spirits within the food you consume.
Throughout your day, 24/7, you can practise this recitation. When you are illuminated by the golden light of Namo Amituofo, you receive the purification of the Buddha-light and the profound energy contained within it. This practice also serves to elevate the spiritual quality of all beings you encounter.
