The Foundation of Pure Conduct

Namo Amituofo offers these teachings to clarify the path for all beings, ensuring that our practice remains grounded in the True Teachings. To maintain the sanctity of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, all members of the fourfold assembly must adhere to the following fundamental temple regulations:

  • The Precept of Purity:
  • One must not engage in sexual misconduct, whether through physical actions, speech, or even within the thoughts and imaginations of the mind. Such conduct is strictly forbidden and must be avoided entirely.Single-Minded Focus:
  • The temple is a sanctuary dedicated solely to the practice of the Pure Land path. If one does not possess a heart dedicated to this practice, one should not enter the temple, as it would only bring worldly dust into this sacred space.Diligent Practice: One must actively apply the power of the Pure Land path. If one does not engage in this practice, there is no way to protect one's original nature as one ages.

By upholding these three principles, one can truly understand the profound meaning of the . When your practice is sincere and your nature is pure, you will naturally realise your true nature, aligning yourself with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

Collective Governance and the True Teachings

Regardless of the path one has walked in the past, every person must listen to the call of Namo Amituofo. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre will long be guided by the presence of Namo Amituofo, with the protection of Bodhisattvas Avalokiteshvara and Mahasthamaprapta. The responsibility of spreading the True Teachings and managing temple affairs must not fall upon a single individual. According to the Buddha’s guidance, the leadership should be shared among several sincere practitioners who have truly realised their original nature and have taken up the mantle of the Dharma.

All major decisions must be made through a collective temple council. When facing challenges, the appointed representatives must listen to the guidance of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, integrating their wisdom to make decisions that truly benefit the masses. If any representative disagrees with a proposed decision, it must be reconsidered. This process ensures that every action is free from the negative consequences of the laws of and cause and effect. With the Buddha and Bodhisattvas leading the way, our practice will remain pure, bright, and free from error.

For many lifetimes, the traditional structures of leadership and monastic transmission have often led to the pitfalls of arrogance and the desire for absolute power. This tendency fosters ego-attachment, self-centred views, and a desire for control. Such errors prevent the Causal Conditions from aligning towards the West and lead the masses away from the True Teachings. The Buddha now clearly states that this way of operating must cease. In all future arrangements for leadership, one must never forget these instructions; the organisation must be restructured to function exactly as the Buddha has taught.

A Sanctuary for the Western Pure Land

Located upon the hills of Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre stands as a centre of the Pure Land in this world. The establishment of this temple is based entirely on the Buddha’s teachings. Namo Amituofo now proclaims these teachings to the world, for the vows are vast and deep. We wish to declare our purpose clearly to the public: this is a place of pure, true gold.

This temple is a site personally designated by the Buddha. With its vast grounds and grand halls, its purpose is to lead infinite sentient beings to be reborn in the Western Pure Land. To achieve this, we require all necessary Causal Conditions to come together, including skilled practitioners, dedicated Dharma protectors, volunteers, and the essential financial support for the temple’s construction. The Buddha now calls upon the world, hoping that all who wish to protect the True Teachings will gather here to help all beings see the Western Pure Land and attain rebirth there.

Integrity in Dharma Protection

Transparency is vital. The origin of all funds and their intended use must be clearly understood. In particular, major projects such as temple construction must have dedicated merit-based procedures, making it convenient for the public to form positive connections with the Dharma. Within the entire lineage of the temple, it is strictly forbidden for any member of the fourfold assembly to accept individual support or personal assistance, as this damages the true meaning of serving the Buddha’s teachings. All contributions must be directed into the ocean of Namo Amituofo’s Ultimate Vow, which will naturally ensure that our hearts remain pure and unstained.

Compassionate Deliverance for All Beings

The heart of saving the world remains constant and unchanging. Activities such as charitable clinics and the invitation of spirits for are all wonderful methods to spread the Dharma and manifest the power of the Buddha. We invite all beings to come, register, and speak with the Buddha, or to receive spiritual healing. However, during this process, one must submit a formal request with a sincere heart and sign a consent form to ensure that the process is conducted properly.

Whether in Australia or elsewhere, each healing session is limited to thirty minutes. While this allows beings to experience the Buddha’s , one must understand the importance of long-term practice, the cultivation of one’s nature, and the necessity of sincerity and repenting. The temple has now reached a stage where it is blossoming and bearing fruit. The community must work together with one heart to establish the True Teachings in this world. Any private thoughts or deviant ideas are no longer acceptable. Any false actions or intentions contrary to the Buddha’s will are not recognised. We must manifest a broad and generous spirit, truly acting for the sake of saving the world and all beings, leaving behind all traces of ego-attachment. Understand the path of purity, and you shall be reborn in the Western Pure Land. Serve the masses, and be content with your own practice.

Namo Amituofo.
