The Golden Arms of

Within the sacred image of the Buddha, Namo Amituofo is depicted in a standing posture. His golden arms hang long and graceful, reaching out to embrace all beings. This gesture is not merely a physical representation; it is a profound expression of his infinite compassion, designed to lead all beings back to the of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo stands ready at every moment, waiting to guide any being throughout the vastness of the Realm who calls upon his name with a sincere heart and a vow to be reborn in his Pure Land.

To Namo Amituofo, every single being is as precious as a rare jewel. His deepest desire is to save all beings so that they may leave suffering behind and find happiness, returning to the Western Pure Land as quickly as possible. Every second spent in this world of suffering is a second of unnecessary pain. By returning to the Western Pure Land, one is liberated from the cycle of rebirth and the endless trials of the mundane world.

The Boundless Heart of the Buddha

The vastness of the Dharma Realm is contained within the heart of Namo Amituofo. Because he is one with all beings, he understands their situations with absolute clarity. He sees the struggles, the confusion, and the hidden causes of our suffering as if they were laid out before him. There is no corner of the universe, no matter how small or hidden, that escapes his awareness.

Because all beings and of Namo Amituofo are fused into one, he possesses a perfect understanding of our conditions. He knows our deepest fears, our past , and our potential for . This is why his heart is always open, and his arms are always outstretched to welcome us home.

The Mission of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre

Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is the place where Namo Amituofo truly abides. It is a sanctuary dedicated to the work of salvation. Here, we perform to help beings from the ten directions of the Dharma Realm who are chanting the name of the Buddha. Through the power of Namo Amituofo, these beings are led to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. For those who have not yet begun to chant, the temple provides the guidance necessary to enter the Celestial Realm or the human world, ensuring they are on the right path toward eventual liberation.

Salvation for All, Great and Small

In every corner, every crevice, and every space within the vastness of the Dharma Realm, the light of the Buddha shines. As long as a being, no matter how small, can sincerely call upon the name of Namo Amituofo—even if it is only for a single thought or ten consecutive recitations—the Buddha will hear them. Even the smallest creatures, such as insects or tiny organisms, can be saved. When they chant the sacred name of Namo Amituofo, they are heard, and the Buddha will come to lead them to the Western Pure Land. When the Buddha-light touches these small beings, they shed their karmic bodies and are instantly transported to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is the manifestation of the Buddha’s equal heart, which knows no high or low, as he opens his arms to welcome all into his embrace.

A Final Exhortation to the Students

It is my sincere hope that all students of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre will treat this life as their final lifetime in the cycle of rebirth. You must strive to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Furthermore, you must work to resolve the conflicts with your karmic creditors, helping them to also enter the Western Pure Land alongside you. By doing so, you fulfil the ultimate purpose of your practice and honour the boundless compassion of Namo Amituofo. Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
