The physical body is not easily obtained, and it serves as a vital condition for your spiritual practice. You must learn to use this temporary form to cultivate the truth. By overcoming the various obstacles that manifest through , you create the precious opportunity to reach and to save infinite suffering beings.
The body is composed of the four elements—earth, water, fire, and wind—and it is a direct manifestation of your past and their effects. It is, in essence, a vessel for your . Consequently, the body carries the heavy burdens of birth, aging, sickness, and death, as well as the debts owed to and the need to repay kindness or resolve past grievances.
Many practitioners encounter significant challenges as their karma manifests through the body during their practice. These obstacles can take many forms, often hindering your progress if you are not vigilant:
If you do not receive the guidance of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, ancestral masters, or a true spiritual friend, you may find yourself retreating from your practice. Without this support, you risk falling back into the cycle of rebirth, or worse, being led into deviant paths or the Demon Realm. Once you have strayed into these dark territories, it becomes incredibly difficult to turn back and return to the True Teachings and the righteous path.
This is why the Buddha’s teachings emphasise the cultivation of the mind. Working directly with your heart and mind is the fundamental method for achieving success in your practice. The Buddha’s teachings are, at their core, teachings of the mind; when the mind is pure, the land is pure.
Chanting is the most convenient and effective method for the purification of the Body-Mind-Spirit. When you ensure that chanting then becomes a continuous, flowing stream that never stops, you are actively purifying your entire being. For every practitioner of the path, reaching Awakening and achieving rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss should be your primary vow and ultimate goal.
At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Namo Amituofo is residing here. Practitioners who cultivate in this sacred space are under the compassionate care of Namo Amituofo, the guidance of Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and the support of Practitioner Su. The of the Buddha are here to help the fourfold assembly of disciples overcome their physical obstacles.
However, it is equally important that you exert your own effort to change your personality traits. Through diligent practice, you have the opportunity to achieve both the Buddha’s blessings and your own self-transformation. The fourfold assembly of disciples must strive to break through these physical barriers, so that you may soon reach the goal of Awakening and gain the ability to freely travel to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
