Recorded on January 23, 2026
Namo Amituofo's discourse, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe on January 23, 2026.
The Essence of Purity
Pure and free from worldly toil. To be free from means to completely sever the ties that bind us to the cycle of suffering. Worldly toil refers to the dust of the secular world—the endless cycle of labour, suffering, and the various afflictions that cloud our original nature. To be pure and free from worldly toil is to have successfully severed these afflictions through the diligent practice of purification. It is the ultimate fruit of one's spiritual journey.
The Realm of the Awakened
This state of being is the natural realm of those who become a Buddha and those who are an awakened being. In our daily lives, we are often surrounded by the dust of the world, which manifests as:
- The : Greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt.
- The : Wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep.
Even when these worldly conditions manifest before us, the practitioner who has attained this state remains unmoved. While may continue to interact with the world, the heart remains anchored in meditative concentration. One is not stained by the presence of these conditions, nor does one suffer because of them. One is no longer deceived by the toil of the world. Without a single trace of attachment, one remains forever in a state of unmoved purity and light. This is the true reality of being pure and free from worldly toil.
The Three Bodies of the Buddha
The three bodies of the Buddha—the , the Reward Body, and the Transformation Body—all exist in this state of purity, completely free from worldly toil. Although these three bodies may manifest in different forms, they are in essence one. They are the manifestation of a single, unified truth.
