This interview with Venerable Chang Gao was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on October 18, 2022. In this discussion, Venerable Chang Gao explores the profound truth of how karmic debts manifest within the human body and the essential role of sincere repentance in achieving true healing.

Venerable Chang Gao speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Chang Gao.

The longer a spirit remains trapped in the cycle of reincarnation, the more suffering they inevitably endure. When these spirits are reborn into the human world, their piles up layer upon layer. One must ask: how can a person truly break free from the constant interference and control of these sentient beings? It is a question that weighs heavily on the hearts of many who seek to understand the nature of their own suffering.

The Truth Within Our Cells

Within the human body, there are countless spirits. Every single cell contains space, and within that space, sentient beings reside. This is a factual truth that Practitioner Su discovered long ago when he used his to open up space. When a spirit obtains a human body and enters the human world, they bring their past with them. As their thoughts arise within the head or their personality manifests through , their karma begins to unfold. It comes in wave after wave, striking relentlessly. The ones who suffer are not only the human body and the human heart, but also the very spirits residing within that body. It is a cycle of profound distress that affects the entirety of one's being.

The Reality of Chronic Illness

The manifestation of illness is, at its core, the manifestation of karma. Consider a patient suffering from diabetes; for years, they have been ravaged by this disease, forced to rely on constant medication just to keep it under control. When other complications arise, the suffering becomes truly unbearable. When we look closely at illnesses that seem impossible to cure, we see that there are a vast number of sentient beings interfering from within. It is not merely the from a single lifetime, but beings from many, many past lives. At the moment when the karmic debt of the individual manifests, these beings from different spaces converge to interfere with the body, causing these specific symptoms and subjecting the person to the ravages of disease.

The Cycle of Retribution

When secondary illnesses begin to break out one after another, it is clear that karmic creditors from other lifetimes have also arrived. Because the fundamental personality of the individual has not changed, these beings follow the familiar scent of the past, pursuing their claims relentlessly. They come to collect debt after debt, one after another. The body endures immense pain, and even with medicine, injections, and surgery, it is difficult to settle these accounts. The physical body is merely a vessel, and when it is filled with the unresolved grievances of the past, it becomes a battleground for .

The Wisdom of Resolution

Practitioner Su opens up space to resolve conflicts with these sentient beings. The method of resolution involves more than just offering benefits to the beings; it requires them to feel the fairness and of Practitioner Su. It also includes helping these beings restore their original state before they suffered their own retribution. These are all ways that Practitioner Su uses his Wisdom to help resolve these deep-seated grievances. However, what about the person carrying the karmic debt? After Practitioner Su uses his Body to resolve a group of sentient beings, the individual must engage in even more sincere and genuine repentance. They must change their personality and their habits. Only then can their illness be cured at the root, preventing these beings from and manifesting again. This is something every person carrying karmic debt must strive to achieve.

A Call to Compassion

Both the sentient beings inside and outside the body need to be saved. It requires a compassionate, selfless heart and a constant effort to change oneself. Only through this transformation can we help more sentient beings be saved and, in turn, resolve our own karma. We must learn to look inward, to recognise the habits that keep us bound to this cycle, and to embrace the path of true repentance. By doing so, we not only heal ourselves but also extend a hand of compassion to those who have been our creditors for lifetimes. This is the path to true liberation.

Namo Amituofo."
