This is a record of an interview with Lu Qiru and Chen Rong, the ancestors of Lay Practitioner Lu Fensheng, who were delivered to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss through the performed at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. They now reside in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on July 31, 2021.

Lu Qiru speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Lu Qiru, and my wife, Chen Rong, and I are currently kneeling on the golden ground of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, offering our deepest gratitude to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su."

The Journey to the Western Land

"Just moments ago, we were still in the -Nature Land at the temple. During the Dharma assembly, when Practitioner Su read the list of those to be delivered to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss today, he called out our names: 'Lu Qiru, the ancestor of Lu Fensheng, and Chen Rong, the ancestor of Lu Fensheng.' He asked us to come to the very front. The space was packed with so many beings, but the Dharma protectors helped us clear a path so we could reach the front. Everyone was so happy and excited because today was the great day that Practitioner Su would send us to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. There were even sixty prison guards from the hells going with us. Having listened to the Dharma for some time, we knew that the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is a place that countless beings long to reach—including the celestial beings in the heavens and the prison guards from the hells who were all waiting to be saved today."

A Debt of Gratitude to Descendants

"My wife and I never imagined that we would be able to meet again after death. We owe everything to our grandson and his wife. Thank you for remembering us, your departed ancestors. Having descendants like you is truly a blessing for the Lu family. After I passed away, I was trapped in a void, and after your grandmother passed, she became a ghost. It was Practitioner Su who pulled us out of that void and the ghost realm. That day was truly extraordinary. We were pulled from a dark, grey place into a realm of brilliant light—the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—and then sent to the temple's Dharma-Nature Land. Only after arriving here did we realise that it was our descendants who had performed the Chao Du for us."

From the Dharma-Nature Land to Ultimate Bliss

"We stayed in the Dharma-Nature Land for quite some time, and honestly, we didn't want to leave. It was so bright and comfortable, a world completely different from the one we had known before. The temple kept asking if we wanted to go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, but we couldn't imagine a place better than the Dharma-Nature Land, so we didn't respond. However, at every Dharma assembly, we saw so many beings departing for the Western Land, so this time, we finally agreed. We never expected that this place would be even more magnificent and radiant than the Dharma-Nature Land, and it is filled with the most wonderful fragrance. Your grandmother is so happy now. We are kneeling together, facing the direction of Namo Amituofo and the temple, to express our gratitude. This is where we will reside from now on; it is truly wonderful! Your grandmother would like to share a few words as well."

Chen Rong speaks:

A Grandmother's Message

"I am Chen Rong. When I was alive, I had heard people mention Namo Amituofo, but I never imagined that after death, I would actually be able to come to the world of Namo Amituofo—the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss where we are now. I am not a person who is good with words, but while I was in the Dharma-Nature Land, I listened to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks, and I began to understand many things. We sincerely and wholeheartedly thank Namo Amituofo, and we are even more grateful to Practitioner Su. Without Practitioner Su saving us, I would still be a ghost, trapped in that grey, dim world. I never dreamed that one day I could reach such a bright and beautiful place. We must thank our grandson and his wife; we have received your filial piety! Thank you!"

"Fensheng, we have already passed away, and the fact that you can see our words like this is truly hard to believe, but it is real! If ancestors can reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, it is a tremendous blessing for their descendants. You must believe that this is true!"

"Now, both your grandfather and I can chant 'Namo Amituofo,' and we hope that both of you will also chant the Buddha's name. Chanting is truly wonderful. I do not know what else to say, but our hearts are filled with such and happiness. Thank you all! Namo Amituofo."
