When you walk through this world, maintaining conduct that is upright and following a direction that is correct is what we call Right Practice. However, when you enter the realm of spiritual cultivation, you must go beyond mere worldly morality. To walk the path of the Buddha is to engage in Buddha-Action. These two paths are distinct, and they are intended for beings at different levels of spiritual maturity, leading them toward different destinations.
The Buddha is entirely selfless and devoid of the ego. His heart is filled with boundless , seeking only to help all beings leave suffering behind and find true happiness. His singular mission is to save countless suffering beings from the cycle of rebirth. In contrast, ordinary people are often burdened by the ego and self-interest. We suffer because we are trapped in our own desires, and we turn to the Buddha only when we seek relief from our pain.
If you wish to progress in your practice, you must begin the process of purification. This requires you to:
By doing this, you will eventually have the opportunity to realise your true nature and attain Buddhahood. This is the vital transition from merely seeking the Buddha's help to becoming a vessel that helps save countless suffering beings.
When people allow their selfish desires to take root, they hold onto their ego ever more tightly. This attachment causes them to stray from the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and wander into deviant paths. If you find yourself in this position, you must turn back to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way immediately. If you do not, the karmic causes you create will inevitably lead to results of suffering. Many people suffer within this cycle without even realising that they are in pain, or they suffer but lack the strength to resolve their own distress. This is the fundamental reason for the suffering we see in the human world.
If you are a wise person, you will recognise the truth of these facts. You will return your actions to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and enter the Buddha's path, which will help you end your own suffering.
