Sent to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss — Liu Qin (Grandfather of Liu Xiaoling)

Lay Practitioner Liu Qin:

Namo Amituofo. My name is Liu Qin, and I have now arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Today, through the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, six of us and a group of small animals were brought together to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss; the scene was truly magnificent.

You can imagine that as we each sat on our lotus seats in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, the moment Practitioner Su struck the singing bowl, in just one second, we arrived directly at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and were seated on our own dedicated lotus seats. The lotus flowers in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss are even more magnificent and dignified than those in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, which was something we had not anticipated.

This is because when Namo Amituofo first made His Forty-eight Great Vows and established this Buddha-land, He spent a very long time diligently cultivating it, hoping to use this dignified and beautiful Buddha-land to lead immeasurable and boundless beings so that everyone would no longer have to suffer. This is not to compare it with the Western Land of Dharma Nature, but after all, the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is truly the most ultimate and perfect Buddha-land. Therefore, the magnificence and dignity here are reflected in every flower and every tree: every tree is chanting the Buddha-name of Namo Amituofo, and every lotus flower is radiating the sound of Namo Amituofo.

In such a magnificent Buddha-land, as far as all things are concerned, every single thing is reminding us that we must chant the Buddha's name. Only by chanting the Buddha's name can one become a Buddha, chanting out the purest, most flawless, and most perfectly wise side of one's self-nature. I cannot help but praise Namo Amituofo; His painstaking efforts are truly profound! Everything here is chanting the Buddha's name, and of course, every being of the Western Land is the same, all chanting the Buddha-name.

Now I can loudly tell everyone that I have become a member of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Looking back at my time in the world, I suffered quite a lot. Because I was old, an accidental fall caused my body to be unable to bear the burden, and I eventually left the world in intense pain. Since then, I had been trapped in a space filled with fear and pain. I did not expect that twenty years would pass in the blink of an eye, and now I have actually received the opportunity from my juniors to register me for a Dharma assembly, allowing me to come to such a wonderful Buddha-land.

I am very grateful and also very comforted that my good grandson was able to come into contact with the Buddhist education of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. This is more important than anything else. Is it not the most important thing for our descendants to be able to learn the Buddha's teachings and find the ultimate and perfect education? While everyone longs to not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die, they also hope that their descendants can learn about the Buddha's teachings sooner, and stand up sooner to lead those around them to leave suffering and gain happiness together.

My grandson is just like this; although he is not young anymore, being able to understand the goodness of the Buddha's teachings has already made this old man feel very comforted. I hope you will study the Buddha's teachings well, truly chant the Buddha's name into your heart, and not just stop at superficial forms.

Namo Amituofo teaches everyone such a magnificent and perfect education, hoping that everyone can become a Buddha just like Him, no longer have to suffer, and can also save immeasurable and boundless beings to become Buddhas together. The Buddha's vow is so vast and immeasurable, and all of us in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss hold the same vow. We are all children taught by the Buddha, each as dignified and beautiful as the Buddha.

On the path of practice to become a Buddha, we gradually let go of our confusion and afflictions, and one day, we will all be able to become Buddhas just like Namo Amituofo. In fact, we have always possessed the Buddha-nature that is no different from the Buddha's; it is just temporarily obstructed by various afflictions.

Today, I will just say a few words to everyone, hoping that you can all be at ease. I, Liu Qin, have truly arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I hope that my family and friends who are still in the world will see this good news, be happy for me, and also feel happy for themselves for being able to know about Buddhist education.
