Teachings by Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:
Sincerity and earnestness are states of the heart and mind, manifested in one's actions.
Sincerity and earnestness mean being sincere and fervent.
Sincerity and earnestness, in how one treats others and conducts oneself in the world, are the manifestation of a sincere heart.
In practice, they are the manifestation of a true, honest, and sincere heart.
Students should earnestly seek guidance from their teachers.
Many matters and principles require the guidance and reminders of elders, which can help a student's learning to grow.
Those who seek the should do so with sincerity and earnestness.
"One part of sincerity and respect brings one part of benefit; ten parts of sincerity and respect bring ten parts of benefit" is the attitude that those who seek the Dharma should possess; the one who benefits the most is oneself.
A sincere smile, an earnest heart, and a genuine desire to change your ways, can touch a rigid and stubborn heart, and are also the keys to resolving the hatred of and their desire to seek revenge and repay grievances.
Practitioners should possess a sincere, earnest, and gentle heart.
Gentleness does not mean weakness; rather, it is being resilient yet flexible, not falling at the slightest breeze, but being able to make adjustments at any time.
This attitude of following conditions and following along is what practitioners should possess.
Only by following conditions and following along can one encompass all things without being attached to appearances.
This life passes in a flash; do you have an earnest expectation?
Do you have a good method to stop aging and illness?
At the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia—the place where Namo Amituofo is residing here,
Practitioner Su’s Buddha-heart, Buddha-vow, and the practice of following Namo Amituofo to save beings,
reveal the magnificent benefits of the Dharma: to not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die, as well as the skills to freely travel back and forth to the
Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This is also a gift from Namo Amituofo, who has manifested in this world for all people.
I hope all those connected by karmic affinity can receive this by "chanting one Buddha's name to the end,"
to stay far away from aging and illness, and to not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die, entering the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
