The Supreme Path of Education

The education of the Buddha’s teachings is the supreme path. It is the great method that allows one to transcend the cycle of birth and death, escape the six realms of rebirth, attain rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss, and realise one's true nature to attain Buddhahood. Because this path is so vital, those who lecture and teach the Dharma bear a heavy responsibility. If they wish for their words to be trusted by the faithful, they must lead by example. They must be the first to follow the teachings they impart, ensuring their actions are in perfect alignment with their words.

If you are fortunate enough to encounter a true teacher who lectures on the Dharma, you have been granted a rare and precious opportunity. To hear the teachings is a great blessing, for it provides the key to leaving the six realms of rebirth behind, securing your place in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and eventually realising your true nature and attaining Buddhahood. Through the guidance of such a teacher, you gain the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and achieve the success of .

The Manifestation of and Wisdom

When a teacher who has already realised their true nature and attained Buddhahood speaks, every word they utter becomes a manifestation of the Dharma. Their conduct, their speech, and their teachings are in complete harmony. Such a teacher possesses the profound ability to observe the needs of their audience, the nature of the individuals present, the timing of the moment, and the environment of the location. This is the true manifestation of compassion and wisdom.

However, the audience for these teachings is far broader than one might imagine. It is not limited to human beings or the sages of the Four Sacred Realms. Beings from this world and from other realms are all potential listeners of the Dharma. This includes:

  • Human beings who possess a physical form.
  • Beings in the spiritual realms who lack a physical form and cannot be seen by the physical eyes, though they are visible to those whose eyes have been opened.

Whenever a lecture is held, the air is filled with beings who have come to listen to the Dharma. These beings arrive from the heavenly realms, the spirit world, the Four Sacred Realms, and even the demon realms. They also include the beings of the animal, ghost, and hell realms—from the smallest insects and plants to the vast mountains, rivers, and the earth itself. All are invited to listen and learn.

The Hidden Audience Within

For those of us in the human world, the audience for a Dharma lecture is not limited to the people sitting in the room. The beings residing within the bodies of the listeners are also primary participants. These include your , attached spirits, and the demon crowds. A teacher who lectures on the Dharma must be aware of this hidden audience, observing the causal conditions and the laws of that bind them to the listener.

When these beings listen to the Dharma, they begin to understand the laws of cause and effect. They start to deeply comprehend the endless suffering and the cycle of mutual consumption that has kept them trapped in the six realms of rebirth. It is a cycle that continues to grow and consume beings without pause. When the listener repents, practises with diligence, and the beings within are helped through the process of , they can be resolved and liberated. This often leads to the dissolution of deep-seated karma, which in turn helps the practitioner achieve spiritual success much sooner.

The Path to True Liberation

This is the immense benefit of the Dharma for those who listen with a sincere heart. By understanding the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, you learn how to conduct yourself in accordance with the path of righteousness. This is where the practitioner who truly wishes to achieve success must put in the work. You must not only listen but also internalise these truths, allowing them to transform your heart and mind.

As you continue to follow the teachings, you will find that the path to liberation becomes clearer. By resolving your conflicts with karmic creditors and purifying your own mind, you pave the way for a smooth transition to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Remember that this journey is one of compassion, and every step you take in the right direction brings you closer to the ultimate goal of Awakening and Buddhahood.
