In the vastness of the universe, we are but a single grain of millet in the boundless ocean. Like a lonely boat drifting upon the waves, we often find ourselves asking: what are we truly seeking? We feel adrift, without a place to rest, and without a clear destination to return to.
Consider the bird flying alone through the vast, empty sky. Its shadow stretches out, indistinct and solitary against the horizon. Yet, in this solitude, there is a profound truth to be realised. The great earth is not separate from us; it is our very essence. When we understand this, we hold no resentment toward any being or any circumstance. We let go of the burdens that weigh down our hearts, allowing our spirits to find peace.
The sky is not separate from us; it is part of the whole. We must learn to let things drift away as they will, like clouds passing in the wind. When we realise that and the other are one, we naturally cultivate a spirit of mutual respect and honour. This is the foundation of a harmonious life, where we see the Buddha-nature in every being we encounter.
Observe the dark clouds as they release their rain. The water enters the earth, only to evaporate and return to the sky. This cycle has continued for thousands of years, yet the essence remains unchanged—it is always as it is. This is the nature of the Pure Land. It is a place of absolute purity that manifests here and now for those who are ready to receive it. This Pure Lotus Land is the ultimate refuge where all beings may finally find their way home.
