Proactivity and following causal conditions are two distinct approaches to one's attitude and the way one exerts effort in life. A proactive person maintains an active and engaged attitude. They approach their tasks and daily actions with clear organisation and purpose. They cherish every moment of their time, ensuring that each task is completed thoroughly, one after another, without delay. In contrast, one who follows causal conditions adopts a flexible and harmonious attitude. Their actions are not rigid; instead, they adapt their efforts according to the actual situations and the specific needs of the moment.
When it comes to your personal practice, you must be proactive. Diligent practice is the essential foundation for anyone who wishes to achieve success on the path to . You must be proactive in your commitment to the following:
Ultimately, being proactive means you are always ready to adjust your Body, Speech, and Mind to suit the environment, ensuring that your actions are always in accordance with the Buddha's path.
When it comes to the work of saving beings, you must follow causal conditions. Every person, object, event, or environment that a being encounters is governed by deep-seated Causal Conditions. Therefore, for a being to encounter the Buddha and the Dharma, their spiritual foundations must be fully matured. The causes for this encounter may have been planted in the distant past or in the present moment. Whether these conditions ripen in this lifetime, the next, or at some future time depends entirely on the maturity of these causes.
Proactivity and following causal conditions are not contradictory; they are two sides of the same coin. You must be proactive in your own cultivation, ensuring that your internal state is pure and ready. Simultaneously, you must follow causal conditions when interacting with others, understanding that everything is a result of past causes or the ripening of karmic fruits. By maintaining this balance, you remain in harmony with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. Always remember to chant Namo Amituofo, for this is the most direct path to fulfilling your vows and reaching the of Ultimate Bliss.
