The Boundless Practice of the Buddha-Heart
Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
On the sixth of July, 2024, during the first session, Namo Amituofo provided the following teachings:
The Nature of Boundlessness
In the realm of nothingness, it is not that there is nothing at all. Rather, it is a state that encompasses the immeasurable and boundless. The boundless heart is the heart that seeks to save all beings and help them leave suffering behind. The boundless practice is the action taken to save all beings, without limits, without boundaries, and without end. This practice is performed solely for the purpose of helping all beings leave suffering behind and find true happiness.
The Reality of the -Nature Land
The world where thoughts manifest into reality is the world of the Dharma-Nature. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is such a place, and the Western Land of Dharma Nature is also such a place. In these realms, there is no lack or insufficiency; instead, there is only abundance and total satisfaction. Because of this, the hearts of all beings are stable and calm, without ripples of anxiety, revealing a natural, contented smile.
The Equality of the Buddha's
The heart and actions of the Buddha in saving immeasurable beings are entirely equal, without any discriminations. If there appears to be a difference in the amount of Buddha’s , Buddha-light, and energy that a being receives, it is only because the hearts and actions of the beings themselves contain varying levels of discrimination. If the hearts and actions of beings were as equal as the Buddha’s, without any high or low distinctions, they would receive the entirety of the immeasurable and boundless Buddha's blessings, Buddha-light, and energy. They would be able to receive the full blessings of the Buddha, the complete purification of the Buddha-light, and the total empowerment of His energy.
Overcoming the Barriers to Grace
If the hearts and actions of beings are not equal and are clouded by discrimination, the blessings, purification, and energy they can receive are naturally limited. This situation is a natural consequence of the state of the practitioner, not because the Buddha-heart or Buddha-actions have any bias. For example, when members of the fourfold assembly have not yet changed their personality traits, or when they carry heavy burdens in their hearts and fall into a state of , they enter a space of confusion. When they listen to sutras and hear the Dharma, it becomes difficult for them to focus and absorb the words of those who provide lectures. Consequently, the meaning of the Dharma that enters their hearts and ears is limited, and they are unable to resolve their conflicts through the benefit of hearing the teachings. Similarly, during a Dharma assembly, if one finds it difficult to focus on reciting the Sutras and chanting the name of Namo Amituofo, the purification and energy received will be limited, and one's practice will not progress.
The Path Forward
The boundless practice awaits the moment when the fourfold assembly diligently practises to reach the state of an awakened being. You must strive to purify your heart, remove your discriminations, and align your actions with the Buddha’s, so that you may fully receive the grace that is always present.
