Teachings from : recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
On the fifteenth day of November, 2024, during the noon offering, Namo Amituofo provided the following discourse:
When you have the Buddha in your heart, and you chant the name of Amitabha in every thought, the Buddha will surely respond. This response may manifest in ways that are visible to you, or it may occur in ways that are hidden from your physical . Whether the response is manifest or hidden, it is always the Buddha’s response, and it is always intended to assist you on your spiritual path.
When you hold the Buddha in your heart and maintain the recitation of Namo Amituofo, you create a connection that allows you to perceive this response. When the response is manifest, you can see it clearly, and you will benefit from it directly. When the response is hidden, although it may seem formless, it is nonetheless a sign of your progress. You must understand that the Buddha’s response is constant; it is a matter of the heart being in sync with the Buddha.
The Buddha who resides within your heart is your true self-nature. This is also Amitabha. It is the Buddha-heart, and it is identical to the nature of Amitabha. We have wandered through the cycle of reincarnated existence for countless lifetimes, and because of this, our true nature has been obscured by deep confusion. When we allow our negative tendencies to manifest, the Buddha nature within you remains hidden, covered by the dust of our worldly attachments.
However, you must realise that your true self-nature is inherently still. It is eternally stable and has never truly left your heart. It is only because of the layers of dust that you cannot see it clearly.
When you hold the Buddha in your heart and chant the name of Amitabha continuously, the name of the Buddha never ceases to resonate within you. This practice is the key to removing the dust of defilement and resolving the conflict with your . As your confusion is completely removed, your heart will be free from even a single speck of dust. You will become purely good and purely clean, with a heart no longer stained by the world.
Eventually, you will see your true nature, and the Buddha nature within you will be revealed. This is the true Buddha-heart, which is identical to Amitabha. At this level, the Buddha is within this heart, and all Buddhas walk the same path. This heart is the Buddha; this heart is Amitabha.
The Buddha is present at Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. The Buddha appears in this world, in the Realm, and throughout the vastness of the void. The Buddha is everywhere, working to save all spirits. This is the infinite and endless nature of the Buddha’s . It has no end, spanning the past, the present, and even the future.
This is the Buddha-heart, and it is also the Buddha-vow, which continues its work of salvation without ever stopping.
