This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Zhang Rongfa, the late founder of the Evergreen Group, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now reflects on the importance of spiritual deliverance for the prosperity of his former business empire and the well-being of his descendants. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable Haize, on July 29, 2018.

Zhang Rongfa speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Zhang Rongfa. Before the monastics and lay practitioners arrived at the venue today, the lights and air conditioning were already set—this is the proper way to treat guests. I am always here, monitoring the venue. I insist on the best audio equipment, ensuring that the voice of Practitioner Su and the sound within the hall can be fully projected. I want more sentient beings to be shaken by this, to believe in the Western Pure Land, and to have more spirits delivered to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Do not forget, many of these spirits are connected to the business operations of our Evergreen Group! Think about it—our business, whether in aviation, maritime operations, or ground facilities, has caused immeasurable harm to countless spirits through our daily interactions and operations. It is truly impossible to calculate! Even the local deities and wandering spirits of this very International Convention Centre have long been waiting for this Assembly. I do not have the ability to them; I must rely entirely on Practitioner Su."

The Necessity of Spiritual Peace

"To settle the 'people,' one must first settle the 'spirits.' If the spirits are restless, interference with the living is far too easy. This is what I see clearly now. In the past, I only focused on the development of the human world, only attending to that single level of existence. Fortunately, my mother helped me and taught me to perform some meritorious deeds, which allowed my business ventures to proceed smoothly or pass through crises with minimal damage. Now that my mother and I are no longer in the human world, you may pay attention to the family ancestral hall, but that is not enough. You have neglected our many employees, including my own descendants and relatives. Each of them carries their own . If they wish to avoid illness and ensure their families and businesses remain prosperous, they must Chao Du the attached to them. I can see that almost everyone carries on their bodies; it binds them, and their bodies and minds can never find true peace!"

A Direct Appeal to the Evergreen Group

"Chao Du performed elsewhere is unreliable; you spend money, but you cannot truly deliver these beings to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have one hundred percent confidence in the Chao Du performed by Practitioner Su; it can truly deliver spirits to be reborn in the Western Pure Land and eliminate disasters and difficulties. I am not here to advertise. Time is limited, and the Dharma Assembly has already begun, so I will not waste time with polite formalities. I will speak plainly: this Dharma Assembly, with Namo Amituofo as the lead and Practitioner Su guiding the proceedings, is unparalleled in the entire Dharma Realm. No one else dares to make such a claim, but here, with Practitioner Su and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, this is a natural and ordinary occurrence. It only lasts for three days. I suggest to you—if you still listen to the words of the late Zhang Rongfa, who is now in the West—that you list out the various institutions, companies, and units under the Evergreen Group. List them one by one, and Chao Du your respective local deities and wandering spirits. You must do this for all three days. If individuals wish to practise their own Chao Du for karmic creditors, or if you seek to eliminate disasters for yourselves or your families, I, Zhang Rongfa, have already chosen the best place for you: do it right here. Do not go anywhere else. It is best that everyone listens. If you do not do this, Practitioner Su's Dharma Assembly will continue regardless, and Namo Amituofo will still lead the ceremony. The only loss will be for the local deities and wandering spirits of the various Evergreen institutions, who will miss the opportunity to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and you will miss the chance to maintain the smooth operation and peace of your annual business activities."

"This is my, the late Chairman Zhang Rongfa's, final directive to everyone. You must believe it! Spread these words further."

"Namo Amituofo."
