When you witness the suffering of beings, you naturally manifest a heart of compassion. You feel a profound desire to rescue these beings and help them leave suffering behind. It is this very aspiration that leads you onto the path of practice. You must engage in diligent practice without any slackening, seeking only to perfect your skills. Only when you have achieved such mastery can you truly save other beings. This is the essence of the path of faith, aspiration, and practice.
Your journey must follow a clear, sequential order: First, you must save yourself by seeing your true nature. Then, you must save other beings so they may leave suffering behind. Finally, you will all be reborn together in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Expanding the Mind-Capacity
Compassion is defined by your capacity for tolerance and the breadth of your mind-capacity. When you recognise the limitations and shortcomings of other beings, you are able to embrace them with a vast heart. If you see flaws or failures in others, you must open your mind-capacity to accommodate them. By doing so, you will not give rise to anger or resentment. Practice is something you must perform within your daily life; it is not merely something to be spoken about, but something that requires actual, lived action.
Overcoming the Internal Obstacles
As you walk this path, you will inevitably see your own problems. This occurs because your character has not yet been transformed, and you remain tightly gripped by ego-attachment. This attachment is the primary reason you become drowsy and fall into lower spaces. If you can transform and change these hearts and actions, you are effectively subduing the demon within and mastering your own mind.
The Virtue of Silence and Conduct
Speaking softly and observing silence are acts of compassion toward all beings. By doing so, you reduce the creation of negative speech and avoid committing transgressions. This also prevents you from attracting . When you allow spiritual attachment to enter your body, you will feel heavy, and you will inevitably attract the manifestations of old age and illness. Cultivating virtue is a form of compassion. If you neglect the importance of virtue, you will find it difficult to uphold the or maintain self-discipline.

With the Buddha's and protection, communicating with the Buddha is not a difficult task. By being content, grateful, and compassionate, you will purify your character and allow your good roots to manifest. This elevation of the quality of your spirit is the manifestation of your true self, marking a time of true progress in your practice.
