The Demon's Conversion: From Pandemic Spreader to Devotee

This interview was recorded on September 8, 2021, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. It features the spirit of Mo Wuxiu, a demonic being from beyond our galaxy who was responsible for spreading viral outbreaks in China and Japan, affecting approximately seventy thousand people. After being discovered by Practitioner Su, he was brought to the Western Land of Dharma Nature, where he underwent a profound transformation and repented for his past actions.

Mo Wuxiu (Shi Wuliang) speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Wuxiu, a demon from beyond this universe. When the massive pandemic broke out on Earth, demon crowds from all corners were invited to join the fray. We, the demonic beings from outside your galaxy, received the call and joined the ranks. To our world, a year or two of a pandemic is nothing—it is a mere blink of an eye. However, time on Earth flows differently than it does in our realm. In truth, our pandemic has lasted much longer than yours. I know this may not be pleasant for you to hear, but I am simply stating the facts of this interstellar existence. Earth is just one planet among many, and frankly, you have lived in such abundance and comfort for so long that a single pandemic has left you all reeling! In the language of the Buddha’s teachings, this might sound harsh, but it is the reality. I am merely clarifying the truth for you all.

The Fragility of Earthly Life

If a planet existed in constant turmoil, where the people did not have the freedom you enjoy—where you can go where you please and eat what you choose—life would be viewed very differently. In our world, we must report our movements, and we eat as a collective; there is no choice. In such a life, human existence is not as 'precious' as it is on Earth. A tiny virus entering the body would be fatal! If the citizens of our planet were as fragile as yours, we could not survive in this interstellar environment. To be honest, the fact that Earthlings have survived in this environment for so long is quite extraordinary. There must be some miraculous power looking after you all.

This 'miraculous power,' based on my observations of Earth these past days, can be described as an invisible but highly energetic force. It is an extremely positive energy that cannot be easily breached by aggressors from other planets. This power is intimately connected to the human heart. When people are kind, this positive energy manifests with great strength. When people are unkind or evil, this energy is damaged, allowing invaders from other worlds to enter. Originally, we did not pay much attention to Earth. Even if we wanted to enter, most planets have a 'defense system' that blocks us. But entering Earth this time was not as difficult as I imagined. This means that the hearts of Earth's people have grown negative and evil, weakening that protective shield. This is a crisis for Earth! You must change your hearts to restore that protection; otherwise, if the pandemic continues to cause such casualties, you will not be able to survive in this interstellar space—you will be conquered by other planets! Yet, word has spread that Namo Amituofo has come to save you from this pandemic. If this is true, then Earth is indeed a very fortunate planet.

The Statistics of Suffering

The current development and mutation of the virus, and the damage it causes to the human body, can be seen in the statistics of infection and death. Even those who have not been invaded or lost their lives feel terrified when they see these numbers. This is the 'achievement' of the demon crowds in successfully spreading the pandemic. The region I was responsible for was China and Japan, where I invaded approximately seventy thousand people, resulting in about twenty-five thousand deaths. My targets were people in the United States and Japan who specialize in high-tech research. Such people have extremely strong subjective views; they demand scientific data and verification for everything. They do not acknowledge the existence of the spiritual realm. In fact, on this Earth, death and the soul exist side-by-side. Just as there are physical planets in this universe for you to discover and explore, there are also many spiritual lives. Just because your physical eyes cannot see them does not mean they do not exist! It is only natural that such humans are assigned to us, the demonic beings from other planets. Looking at the current situation, unless there is an incredibly powerful force, it will be difficult to stop the spread of the pandemic.

The Shock of the Buddha's Power

When humanity was at its wit's end with these mutated viruses, news spread that Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su were at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to save the world from this pandemic. This caused a massive shock in the Demon Realm! It was said that if this were true, we demons would no longer be able to continue our work. Everyone wanted to know what kind of 'three-headed, six-armed' character this 'Practitioner Su' was. A Demon King asked me, 'Do you know what the word "Buddha" means on Earth?' I replied, 'Tell me, I am listening.' He said, 'Buddha means all-knowing and all-powerful.' I said, 'I would like to see what this "all-knowing and all-powerful" is!' He warned me, 'Be careful. Do not underestimate the humans of Earth! Some are deeply hidden, and you cannot know their limits.' I replied, 'Understood.' I brought my demon children and grandchildren to investigate. Once we arrived, we realized Practitioner Su was not someone to be trifled with! I had never heard of a human soul from Earth flying into outer space and performing large-scale Chao Du in Asian countries every single day! To us, 'Chao Du' was an unfamiliar term. After listening to Practitioner Su’s lectures, I learned that Chao Du is the act of guiding souls to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss—a new country whose ruler is Namo Amituofo! This Namo Amituofo is currently residing at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and Practitioner Su is saving beings based on the vows of Namo Amituofo.

The Golden Light of Protection

The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is bathed in light. It is very bright, yet not blinding. In the universe, there is a common trait: everyone respects and worships light. This light is not something that can be manufactured; it must be radiated from the individual’s own practice and purification. Light represents energy, and the stronger the light, the stronger the energy. This principle is the same on every planet in the galaxy; it is a universal standard. If this is the case, Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su truly possess abilities beyond our imagination. I had long heard that some practitioners on Earth could push their physical potential to the limit. These humans are called 'awakened beings.' They are rare on Earth, and they are the ones who can correctly explain the universal truth within the Buddha’s teachings. If Practitioner Su is an awakened being, it is only natural that his soul can travel through the universe to save beings. When humanity is helpless against the current pandemic, it is highly likely that Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su will succeed in saving you.

After I arrived to investigate, I wanted to explore just how powerful this awakened being, Practitioner Su, really was. I brought my demon children and grandchildren to find him while he was giving a Dharma talk. As we tried to get closer, I suddenly realized we could not enter his space. The rumors were true—Practitioner Su has a 'Vajra Shield' protecting his body. This shield is pressed tightly against him. When we approached, we were repelled by a natural force, and Practitioner Su immediately discovered us. This was completely unexpected! I thought it would be as smooth as spreading the pandemic, but we were caught! If this were a real battle, we would have been taken prisoner. But here, we were treated quite well. Practitioner Su settled us in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. The magnetic field here is quite good! Over these days, I have seen many things at the temple and witnessed the golden body of Namo Amituofo. It is truly breathtaking. It is no wonder so many beings attend the Dharma assemblies to seek deliverance!

A History of Darkness

My name is Mo Wuxiu. Because I know that those on Earth who have true attainment have achieved it through practice, and I have no such practice, I named myself 'Mo Wuxiu' (Demon Without Practice) when I joined this pandemic. Let me briefly describe my planet and my upbringing. Our planet is very far from Earth. It was once a beautiful, disaster-free world where people lived in harmony. When I was born, everyone celebrated, as new life is not easily achieved on our planet. Many lives die before they are even born because our planet is a polar world, extremely cold. Parents do not have physical contact; instead, they are invited by a 'planetary gestation' unit into a space to visualize the gestation of new life. If the visualization is successful, the child is born. This process takes a very long time—ten years by Earth time. Many new lives cannot survive these ten years and wither away. If they survive, they have passed a great test and can grow successfully outside the womb. Later, because the next generation dwindled and our defenses weakened, our beautiful planet was attacked by other worlds. Although we survived, many lives were lost, further weakening our defenses. After a second wave of attacks, the survivors were forced to become a defeated nation, living under occupation. Our original planet entered a world of darkness, and we became demons of this dark planet, surviving by constantly expanding outward and absorbing the energy of other planets. From birth until now, my life span is approximately two thousand two hundred years by Earth standards. I was sent by the dark planet to participate in this pandemic, but after being discovered at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I was sent to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. The way the temple treats intruders is so wonderful; it is beyond words. It is not only filled with endless energy but is also surrounded by Buddha-light. It is more beautiful and better than the planet I was born on! If this is where I am to reside, I am truly grateful for this investigative journey. It has not only allowed me to escape my original dark planet but also freed me from the fear of being ruled, invaded, and losing my freedom.

The Compassion of Namo Amituofo

The Dharma assemblies here are all about helping beings enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I cannot help but wonder: if this is the case, Earth should be a kind and beautiful planet, so why does a pandemic occur? Even in outer space, a pandemic is a natural elimination process for a planet to reorganize its life, and the surviving lives bear the responsibility of continuing the planet's existence. In the assemblies I have seen at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, many of the souls look like they come from different eras, mostly carrying sorrow and suffering. Only a few hearts are filled with expectation. It seems that many unfortunate things have happened in Earth’s history to produce so many sorrowful souls. When they are delivered into the golden light of Namo Amituofo, I can feel that these lives have attained liberation. Before entering the light, they emit a magnetic field of sorrow; after entering, all that sorrow is eliminated. I never imagined that souls on Earth had such a wonderful destination—the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I wondered: I am not a soul of this Earth; can I enter? A gentle, kind voice told me, 'In the heart of the Buddha, every being is equal. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss exists to guide these suffering beings so they do not have to continue suffering. No matter where beings come from, as long as they are willing to chant "Namo Amituofo" and are willing to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, they can reach it by entering the golden light during the Dharma assembly.' I asked the voice, 'Where do you come from?' The voice replied, 'I am Namo Amituofo. I know what every being is thinking and what they need. Everything they need can be provided in the Land of Ultimate Bliss to satisfy them, including eternal life and endless, everlasting energy and light.' I was astonished! Does such a wonderful place exist in this universe? Namo Amituofo replied, 'If you are willing, you can come here too.' I asked the Buddha, 'But I was sent to Earth to spread the pandemic and harm so many lives. Is the Buddha still willing to accept me?' The Buddha said, 'Every soul carries the karma of their past. No matter what the cause or the effect, the Buddha does not look at your past; he only looks at your heart in the present. As long as you are willing to chant the Buddha's name and are willing to enter the Western Land, the Buddha will accept you.' I asked in surprise, 'Is this what is called compassion?' The Buddha said, 'Yes. You also have a compassionate heart, but it has been covered up. If you are willing to repent for what you have done in the past, your compassion will manifest.' After hearing this, I naturally knelt down, pressed my palms together, and said to Namo Amituofo, 'Buddha! I am willing to repent before you. I took many lives during the pandemic, leaving those who died as sorrowful souls scattered where they perished. I hope they can also be bathed in the Buddha-light to unravel the sorrow and suffering in their hearts. This is my guilt and my repentance.' I then saw the Buddha-light shining directly into the epidemic zones where I had spread the virus. I am deeply grateful to the Buddha in my heart.

At the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, I met Namo Amituofo. I felt the Buddha's compassion and equality. I absolutely believe that the Buddha has the ability to soothe the demon crowds of the pandemic, allowing them to find the best destination and withdraw from this pandemic. This is my personal experience. Now, I attend every Dharma assembly from beginning to end, chanting "Namo Amituofo" along with everyone else. This is my small contribution to helping Practitioner Su deliver sentient beings to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Buddha has given Mo Wuxiu the Dharma name "Shi Wuliang."

Mo Wuxiu (Shi Wuliang)
