Teachings from Namo Amituofo, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable Fa Hui.

On this day, the twenty-fifth of October, two thousand and twenty-four, Namo Amituofo offers this discourse to all students of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre.

The Sacred Mission of the -Nature Land

Students of Hsiang Kuang, you have been fortunate to encounter Practitioner Su in this world. Through the power of Practitioner Su’s grand vow to save all beings, and with the compassionate assistance of Namo Amituofo, the has been established here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. This sacred space serves as a sanctuary where those who have received from Practitioner Su may enter and find refuge.

Cleansing the Spirit Realm with Infinite Light

Within the Western Dharma-Nature Land, the Buddha-light shines continuously, illuminating every corner throughout the day and night. Here, beings are granted the precious opportunity to listen to the Dharma talks delivered by Practitioner Su. The radiant energy of this light acts as a profound purifier, washing away the deep-seated filth and karmic stains that cling to spirits, ghosts, and even the demon crowds. Under this influence, these beings are able to suppress their evil thoughts, cease the creation of new , and refrain from all unwholesome actions. Consequently, they are empowered to chant the name of Namo Amituofo, make sincere vows, and ultimately be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

A Vital Gateway for the Suffering

For the countless spirits wandering in the darkness, the Western Dharma-Nature Land is an indispensable gateway to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Without such a sanctuary, many beings burdened by heavy karma would remain lost. They might not know how to chant the Buddha’s name, or worse, they might chant with a scattered and deluded mind, rendering their efforts empty. Some might even attempt to chant while continuing to create negative karma, thereby losing their chance for rebirth. This is why the existence of this land is so critical for the salvation of those who are suffering.

The Responsibility of the Fourfold Assembly

Therefore, students of Hsiang Kuang, you who have the rare opportunity to enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, you must be diligent in your practice. You must cultivate self-discipline, remain cautious, and strictly uphold the . Even if you have not yet reached full , you can still attain a pure heart. By doing so, you may come to know the time of your passing in advance, chant the name of Namo Amituofo with a single-minded focus, and be received by Namo Amituofo himself to be reborn in the West.

Alternatively, through diligent practice, you may attain Awakening and gain the ability to freely travel to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Like Practitioner Su, whose spiritual can leave the physical form at any time to perform Chao Du, or who can enter the Western Pure Land and return at will, or even choose to depart the physical body entirely to reside in the Western Pure Land, you too can develop such capabilities. Practitioner Su, who can freely travel to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, possesses the power to lead spirits into that sacred realm.

Securing the Future of the Pure Land Path

However, consider this: if Practitioner Su were no longer present in this world, and the fourfold assembly had not yet achieved the necessary skills for rebirth, where would you go in your next life? You would inevitably fall back into the cycle of rebirth. You would lose this golden opportunity to enter the Western Pure Land, and who knows when you might encounter such a teacher again? Therefore, I urge the fourfold assembly to strive diligently for Awakening. Seek to attain the ability to freely travel to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. If you do this, Namo Amituofo will also assist you in establishing your own Dharma-Nature Land, thereby fulfilling the vow to save countless suffering beings. Namo Amituofo.
