Those who are reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss enter the four lands, three grades, and nine levels based on two essential factors: the purity of their spirit and the depth of their practice in chanting Namo Amituofo.

Just as the growth of a lotus within the pond is a natural process, so too is the placement of each being within this realm. All beings within the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss live lives of perfect equality. Everything that Namo Amituofo possesses is selflessly offered to those who enter this realm, and each being, according to their own level of practice, freely enjoys the benefits of Namo Amituofo’s abundance.

As these sages continue their practice within the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, they naturally elevate their spiritual status. They freely enjoy the benefits of their attained level, continuing this journey until they reach the Land of Eternally Quiescent Light.
