Teachings from Namo Amituofo:

In the midst of your daily life, you are often occupied with many tasks. But have you ever paused to ask yourself: why are you so busy? For whom are you working? Are you busy for the sake of your own worldly desires, or are you busy for the sake of all sentient beings?

The Noble Purpose of Our Endeavours

If you are busy working towards the great matter of helping all beings leave suffering behind and find rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss, and if you are working to achieve your own spiritual liberation, then you are truly cultivating the Bodhicitta. To attain Buddhahood is to save all beings. This is the highest form of practice.

Consider the example of . In the beginning, he made the Forty-eight Great Vows. He practised with the utmost diligence. After every one of his vows was fulfilled, he established the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. At that same moment, Dharmakara Bhikshu attained Buddhahood and became known as Namo Amituofo. His entire journey was dedicated to the salvation of others.

The Wisdom of Oneness and the Realm

If you are busy working for your own rebirth in the West but lack confidence or clarity, you may feel lost. However, if you can expand your mind-capacity to include the great matter of helping all beings reach the Western Pure Land, you become a wise person. A wise person understands a profound truth: to help others achieve their rebirth is to achieve your own; to be busy for the sake of all beings is, in truth, to be busy for your own spiritual growth.

When you truly understand this meaning and put it into practice, you will be able to enter the state of the One Body. You will realise that you are one with the heavens, the earth, and all things. You will merge with the vastness of the Dharma Realm. This is the moment when the Buddha's path is attained, and the is revealed.

The Living Practice at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre

At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia—the place where Namo Amituofo truly abides—we are constantly busy. Under the guidance of Practitioner Su and with the protection of Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, we engage in this busy practice every day. With the compassionate support of Namo Amituofo, Practitioner Su is tirelessly occupied with the following vital tasks:

  • Performing for spirits in the spiritual realms, helping them find peace.
  • Subduing demon crowds and guiding them into the Western Land of Dharma Nature within the temple, allowing them to leave the Demon Realm and enter the Buddha's path.
  • Conducting the three times a week to benefit all beings.
  • Giving Dharma talks and lectures to clarify the Truth.
  • Overseeing the construction and maintenance of the temple facilities.
  • Providing spiritual healing to those in need of body, mind, and spirit purification.
  • Establishing Buddha billboards across Taiwan, Australia, Japan, Poland, and Germany, with further installations currently underway in Singapore.

A Call to Diligent Practice

All of these activities are carried out for the sake of all beings. We also encourage the fourfold assembly of disciples to be diligent in their daily practice. By doing so, you are not only helping yourself achieve success but also assisting all beings in their own journey toward liberation. Like Practitioner Su, who attained through diligent practice, we must now work to spread the Pure Land teachings and educate all beings.

With the assistance of Namo Amituofo, we can perform Chao Du for all sentient and non-sentient beings. When they hear the holy name of Namo Amituofo, they are able to leave suffering behind, find rebirth in the Western Pure Land, and receive salvation. This is how one attains Awakening and eventually attains Buddhahood.
