A Discourse on the Path to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss
The Boundless Expanse of the Realm
Rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss is the true ultimate happiness. Once you enter this realm, you shall never be diverted from the path. There is only purification, waiting for your vows to be fulfilled. This is how one transcends birth and death, avoiding the suffering of the cycle of reincarnation.
Disciple Shi Faxi respectfully invites Namo Amituofo to explain the meaning of the Western Land of Dharma Nature. Namo Amituofo provides the following teachings:
The Western Dharma Realm is boundless and infinite. It transcends the three periods of time and possesses no physical capacity. It is like the vast ocean; the of the Buddha is equally high and wide, immeasurable and boundless, capable of containing all things. Just as the ocean receives all that flows into it, the Dharma Realm is boundless and eternal, never overflowing.
The Sacred Sanctuary of the Dharma-Nature Land
The Western Land of Dharma Nature shares the same essence and environment as the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, yet it manifests here within this world of impurity. It serves as a sacred sanctuary for those who are preparing for their eventual rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Within this space, you are nurtured like a lotus flower, carefully developing the sincere vow to be reborn in the West.
Through the constant influence of listening to the sutras and establishing a sincere vow, your lotus will bloom. When this happens, you will see the Buddha and attain true . Once you enter this state, your path is secure and cannot be diverted. Your only task is to focus on your purification while waiting for your vows to be fulfilled. This is the way to transcend the cycle of rebirth and avoid the suffering of samsara.
The Nurturing of the Buddha-Heart
Within this land, you must nurture your Buddha-heart. When your Buddha-heart and your vows are fully realised, the lotus will open and you will enter the Buddha-land. This is a certainty—a guarantee of rebirth, even if you are still carrying karmic burdens. This manifestation of the Buddha-land is absolute and beyond doubt.
Once you reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, you will continue your practice, listening to the teachings and refining your nature. Eventually, you will return to the world to help others, sailing the ship of alongside Namo Amituofo. This is the Buddha-vow, the essence of practice, the manifestation of compassion, and the true meaning of the Pure Land.
The Eternal Promise of Ultimate Bliss
Whether it is the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss or the Western Land of Dharma Nature, both are part of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Once you enter this state, you are truly in the realm of ultimate happiness, and you will never be moved from this path again.
