This is a record of an interview with Chang Gao, a spirit from the Buddha Realm of the Four Sacred Realms, who assists in the deliverance of spirits at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He reflects upon his experiences witnessing the power of Practitioner Su to deliver beings from trapped spaces. Recorded by the disciple Venerable HaiZe on March 26, 2019.
Chang Gao speaks:
". I am Chang Gao, a spirit residing within the Buddha Realm of the Four Sacred Realms. Every day, I follow the of Practitioner Su to perform . In that spiritual realm, I am constantly surrounded by the boundless and immense mind-capacity of Practitioner Su, which fills me with profound respect. While Practitioner Su’s physical body resides here in the human world, his awakened Body moves freely through various spaces, saving sentient beings and guiding them to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Although I have been following Practitioner Su in this work of deliverance for quite some time, I still consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had the karmic affinity to meet him. Under his guidance and teachings, I have come to understand the reality of the universe and the Universal Principles more clearly than ever before. My heart is filled with endless gratitude, and I wish to remain by Practitioner Su’s side always.
I never imagined that in this lifetime, because of Practitioner Su’s ability to open the layers of space, I would be able to help deliver the sentient beings with whom I have had karmic connections over accumulated lifetimes to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Practitioner Su’s ability to open these spaces to deliver sentient beings has become known throughout the vastness of the Dharma Realm. Wherever he goes, there are countless spirits waiting to be saved. Whether they are beings from the six realms of rebirth in this worldly realm or creatures from planets across the Milky Way, all are objects of Practitioner Su’s compassion. Every single day, immeasurable and boundless spirits are saved. Many stories of these different spaces have been revealed because we have been interviewed about them.
Today, I would like to share a true story. The emotion between parents and children in the human world, while a form of , is truly heart-wrenching. A family set out on a journey, full of and anticipation, never expecting that they would not reach their destination. Their plane suffered a tragic accident in the mountains. Although there was no explosion, the force of the impact against the mountain was so immense that many passengers died instantly in their sleep, their bodies torn apart along with the aircraft. This family of four was no exception; they lost and perished in a single moment. However, their spirits remained trapped, living and reliving that split second of impact and the brief, chaotic moments that followed. I do not know how many times they had repeated this cycle, for what I witnessed was that specific, frozen space of the crash.
I saw the plane disintegrate in mid-air, with the wreckage and the bodies of the passengers scattered everywhere. The air was filled with terrified spirits. Some were weeping, completely at a loss; others were frantically searching for their loved ones; still others did not even realise they had died, looking around in confusion, wondering why things had suddenly become so strange while they were still on the plane. I saw this pair of parents—the father was missing his lower body, and the mother’s face and body had been sliced in half. After they looked at each other, they began searching everywhere for their children. Because they could not find them, they were filled with terror and wept uncontrollably.
I saw the scene pause there, only to reset and repeat: the plane disintegrating, the wreckage and bodies scattering, the air filled with terrified spirits, and the parents searching for their children in vain. This was the cycle that defined this space. Then, Practitioner Su arrived, bringing with him the Buddha-light and the chanting of the Buddha-name. In an instant, this endless, repetitive scene came to a halt. These terrified, mutilated spirits were restored to wholeness. The father, who had been missing his lower body, was made whole again; the mother, whose face and body had been sliced, had her side restored. After being bathed in the Buddha’s light, their weeping ceased.
However, once this pair of parents regained their , they immediately continued to search for their children, but they still could not find them. I told them, 'Quickly, chant the Buddha-name and follow the golden light forward.' Some spirits flew off very quickly, while others remained stunned and motionless. I urged the parents to hurry and follow, but they shook their heads firmly, unwilling to leave without their children. I then told them, 'Follow the golden light to the Western Pure Land, and you will be able to know where your children are.' After some hesitation, the parents finally caught up and entered the golden light.
Regardless of the circumstances, the spirits of this plane crash were saved from that space because Practitioner Su passed through. They were spared from the suffering of being trapped in that cycle, and they were even given the opportunity for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am truly and deeply happy for them! I am grateful for the compassion of the Buddha, and I am grateful to Practitioner Su! Namo Amituofo."
