The Heart and Actions in the Buddha-land
Words of Namo Amituofo
Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
Namo Amituofo’s discourse:
The Path of Personal Practice
Within this Buddha-land, I will always guide you on how to proceed on your journey. However, it is essential for you, my children, to personally put these teachings into practice. Only through your own dedicated effort can the power of faith and understanding manifest, providing you with actual, tangible support on your spiritual path. Do not underestimate the significance of even the smallest act of goodness or the slightest spark of a kind heart. Every effort you make to purify your Body, Speech, and Mind, and to cleanse your Six Roots, is a step forward. Within these small, consistent efforts lies the precious opportunity to become an awakened being.
The Weight of Every Thought
Conversely, do not overlook the impact of even the smallest negative thought or harmful action. By allowing these to take root, you are planting the seeds that lead to the suffering of and the potential for falling into the hells. Therefore, you must be extremely careful and cautious with every thought and intention that arises in your mind. You must heighten your awareness at all times. When you find yourself engaging in good and wholesome thoughts and actions, you must continue to do so. Do not let arrogance or pride destroy the progress you have already made. If you find yourself engaging in evil or harmful thoughts and actions, you must stop them immediately. You must quickly transform your heart and your actions, halting those negative thoughts and behaviours at once.
The Clarity of at Hsiang Kuang
Why is the law of karmic retribution so clearly visible here at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre? It is because this centre is a sacred place where truly abides. It is surrounded by layers of protectors who observe everything. When beings here allow thoughts of good or evil to arise, how could they possibly hide them from the Dharma protectors? Because the laws of karma and cause and effect operate so rapidly within this environment, the consequences of both good and evil actions are seen with absolute clarity.
The King of Mantras
Throughout your 24/7, regardless of whether you are facing good or evil, or dealing with any person, matter, or environment, you must always hold onto the name of Namo Amituofo. This six-character name is pure and inherently good. It has the power to nurture all goodness and to sever all evil; it is truly the king of mantras. I wish for all my children to hold onto this name tightly and never let go, using it to protect your body and mind. On this path of practice, the Buddha will always be your companion.
A Warning to the Misguided
In this Buddha-land, it is common to see demon crowds coming and going, for they are also among the beings here. When Practitioner Su explains my teachings during his lectures, he always clearly points out that those who violate the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way will inevitably face the consequences of karmic retribution as dictated by the natural laws of the universe. This is especially true when one is within the Buddha-land itself. Do not harbour any thoughts of luck or evasion! I only hope that these demons will hear this, feel fear, and cease their negative thoughts and actions, so that they may avoid the suffering of karmic retribution.
