The Heart as the Navigator of the Spirit

The heart and the spirit are inextricably linked. Wherever the heart directs its focus, the spirit will inevitably follow. The spirit is guided by the intentions and the state of the heart. If your heart is filled with virtuous intentions, it will lead your spirit toward the higher realms of existence. Conversely, if the heart is clouded by confusion, the spirit will drift into the cycle of rebirth. You have the power to choose your destination. By cultivating a heart of goodness and maintaining the Five and the Ten Virtues, you guide your spirit toward the human or heavenly realms. However, there is a higher path. By purifying your heart and making the sincere vow to chant Namo Amituofo, you invite the Buddha to guide your spirit directly into the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Stability of the Mind

An anchored, stable heart brings peace and cohesion to the spirit. When your heart is calm, your spirit remains gathered and focused. However, when the heart is restless, agitated, or constantly fluctuating, the spirit becomes scattered and vulnerable. This is why the practice of the Three Learnings of Precepts, Samadhi, and Wisdom is so vital. You must begin by working on the heart. By observing the Precepts, you discipline the heart; through this discipline, you attain meditative concentration. When the heart is stable, Wisdom naturally manifests. Every situation you encounter can be handled with this Wisdom, and every principle of the can be understood through it. Once you truly understand, you can put these teachings into action. In this way, the Three Learnings of Precepts, Samadhi, and Wisdom become complete, and your practice will surely bear fruit.

Removing the Veils of Defilement

Before one has transformed their and reached , the heart is often dominated by deluded thoughts and impure desires. These impurities do not always originate solely from within; they can be influenced by , attached spirits, or even demon crowds. To overcome this, you must chant Namo Amituofo all the way. As you continue to chant, your heart undergoes a profound purification, to remove defilements and attain purity. You must persist in this purification again and again. Eventually, you will be able to see your true self. Your true self has always been present, but it has been obscured by layers of delusion and impurity. By diligently protecting your true self and transforming the eight consciousnesses into the light of Wisdom, your heart will become pure and free from all stains.

The Ultimate State of Oneness

When your heart reaches a state of pure goodness and absolute purity, it merges into one with the entire Dharma Realm. In this state, the heart has no boundaries; it is vast and infinite. This is the state of having no-mind, which is the true meaning of Awakening. When you reach this level, you have truly realised your true nature. You are no longer bound by the limitations of the ego or the turbulence of the world. You are at one with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is the ultimate goal of your practice, and it is accessible to all who are willing to put in the work. Namo Amituofo.
