When you cultivate this heart, your six fundamental abilities can manifest, and you will eventually realise your true nature. This is the fundamental reason for your Awakening.

If you only seek personal liberation, you are following the Lesser Vehicle. It is difficult to enter Mahayana Buddhism, which is the path of the Bodhisattva. Mahayana Buddhism is the path of diligent practice for the sake of all beings. It is even more difficult to enter One Vehicle Buddhism, the supreme path to Buddhahood. Therefore, the Infinite Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the Mahayana, Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Enlightenment Sutra) emphasizes that those who wish to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss must: "arouse the Bodhi mind and single-mindedly recite Namo Amituofo." This Bodhi mind is the mind of becoming a Buddha to save sentient beings.

Understanding the Roots of Suffering

Why do beings endlessly revolve in the cycle of rebirth within the Six Realms? It is because they do not understand the source of their suffering. Suffering comes from having a self, having a body, and having karma. As a practitioner of the Pure Land, your great premise is your faith in Namo Amituofo. Through your vows, your practice, and the Buddha's blessings, you can abandon the self and be selfless. You can sacrifice yourself for others. When you are no longer pulled by the weight of your karma, you will achieve success in your practice. This is the most important reason why your practice can bear fruit.

The Fruits of a Pure Heart

Practice can be successful because of deep faith in Namo Amituofo, combined with compassion and wisdom. Naturally, one can follow the Three Learnings of Precepts, Samadhi, and Wisdom, as well as the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, while diligently reciting Namo Amituofo, continuously and without interruption. Kindness, beauty, compassion, and wisdom are the natural fruits of your practice. Those who have realised their true nature live their lives in a state of being cool, adaptable, and at ease.

They have achieved the Dharma Body and can come and go from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss with freedom from birth and death. The vow to save countless suffering beings is the manifestation of compassion. The countless beings within your own body are the first to receive this grace. Furthermore, your parents, teachers, family members, and karmic creditors from countless past lives and this life are all objects of your salvation.
