Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.

On the fifth of September, 2025, during the noon offering, Namo Amituofo provided the following teachings:

The Path Through Impermanence

The physical body is subject to the law of impermanence. All the various changes we experience in our lives are manifestations of the laws of and cause and effect. If you are a practitioner, you must realise that when you encounter difficult situations, you have a unique opportunity to break through and transform your life.

Do not fear the disturbances that arise, whether they come from other beings or from external negative influences. When you face these challenges with a steady heart, you are witnessing the manifestation of transforming your karma. By doing so, you can clearly identify the direction of your practice and move forward with unwavering determination.

The Foundation of Stable Transformation

If you can undergo various transformations while maintaining a state of inner stability, you are acting as a wise person who possesses true meditative concentration. This is a precious opportunity to transform your karma. However, if you attempt to make changes while your heart is in a state of agitation and fluctuation, you will only attract more negative karma and invite spiritual attachments to manifest.

Turning Within the and Desires

Where exactly does this transformation take place? It occurs within the very fabric of our daily lives, specifically as we navigate the following:

  • The Five Poisons: Greed, Anger, Ignorance, Arrogance, and Doubt.
  • The : Wealth, Sexual Pleasure, Fame, Food, and Sleep.
  • The Five Aggregates: Form, feeling, perception, impulse, and .
  • The Three Obstacles: Delusion, discrimination, and attachment.

All the situations mentioned above are reflections of your personality. When you see these traits manifesting, you must understand that changing your personality is the essence of true transformation. You must learn to let go of the Five Poisons, the Five Desires, and the Five Aggregates.

The Practice of Restraining

True transformation is achieved by diligently practising (Discipline), Concentration and Wisdom to extinguish greed, anger, and ignorance. You must use the Precepts to stop greed, use Concentration to stop anger, and use Wisdom to stop ignorance. Furthermore, you must learn to restrain your six sense organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind).

Instead of constantly looking outward to seek the satisfaction of your desires, you must turn your focus inward to rediscover your pure, original nature. This pure nature is the manifestation of the goodness, good roots, and virtuous thoughts inherent within your true self. By giving rise to all and achieving the fruit of , you will eventually attain the fruit of Buddhahood.

The Eternal Light of Namo Amituofo

In the daily use of your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body, you must strive to avoid falling into discrimination, attachment, or delusion. Do not let these experiences enter your consciousness. Instead, let your actions be guided by your innate awareness and sensitive perception. Most importantly, you must hold fast to the six-character name, Namo Amituofo, and chant one Buddha's name to the end.

If you can maintain this pure, uninterrupted chanting 24/7, you will receive the support of the Buddha’s supreme power of merit and majestic power. This support will sustain you from your very first moment of resolve all the way until you achieve Buddhahood.
