On the seventh of April, 2019, during the first session of the , Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered these profound teachings to guide our practice.

The Fleeting Nature of the World

Observe the vast blue sea as it stretches to the horizon, its surface calm and without a single ripple. Seagulls soar gracefully through the open sky, while dolphins leap joyfully from the depths of the ocean. Yet, how quickly the scene changes. Suddenly, the sky transforms, and the sea surges with violent, crashing waves. A wild wind sweeps across the earth, leaving the birds with nowhere to escape. All phenomena in this world are subject to constant change; they are never static. Who among us can truly resist this tide of impermanence? Everything we cling to eventually scatters in chaos, and living creatures find themselves with nowhere to return to. This is the inherent nature of the six realms of existence—a cycle of constant flux and suffering.

Seeking the Stillness Within

This illusion of the material world continues without end, yet you must not be deceived by it. How can one withstand such overwhelming impermanence? The answer lies in the strength of your meditative concentration. You must look inward and seek your true self. When you understand the true appearance of reality, you will realise that your original nature is inherently pure, tranquil, and untouched by the storms of the world. Confusion covers the earth like a thick veil, making it difficult for most to distinguish between the real and the illusory. However, the compassionate vows of Namo Amituofo are always present, shining through the darkness.

The Compassionate Embrace of Namo Amituofo

Namo Amituofo manifests as a body of light, working tirelessly to save all sentient beings. Even the inanimate are included in His vast and boundless vows. When you offer a single, sincere recitation of the name of Namo Amituofo, it rings out clearly, reaching into the very clouds. As we call out to Namo Amituofo together, our voices unite in a single purpose. The of Ultimate Bliss welcomes us with infinite . Our compassionate Father stands before us, opening His arms wide to welcome His children home. Let us hold fast to this faith and continue our practice with a sincere heart.

This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
