Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe, on 7 November 2025
The Radiance of a Pure Heart
Namo Amituofo teaches us that the qualities of kindness, , wisdom, tolerance, and mind-capacity are the foundations of our spiritual life. As these virtues and noble characteristics become increasingly prominent within you, the light of your heart will naturally begin to shine forth. This inner radiance is truly priceless; it cannot be purchased with worldly wealth or material possessions. Instead, it is the visible manifestation of the purity and goodness you have cultivated through your daily practice. When your Body-Mind-Spirit are in a state of harmonious and unified balance, you enter the realm of infinite light, which is the gateway to realising your true nature and attaining Buddhahood.
Beyond the Limitations of Physical Sight
Many people rely solely on their physical eyes to perceive the world. While the clarity or brightness of your physical vision may be improved through external aids or medical interventions, you must remember that the physical body is merely a temporary combination of elements. It is subject to the laws of ageing, illness, and the constant changes of the world, where all things arise and cease according to . Do not mistake the fleeting clarity of the physical eye for the eternal, unchanging light of your true nature. True vision comes from the purification of the heart, which transcends the limitations of the physical form.
The Realm of Infinite Light
The of Ultimate Bliss is a world defined by Infinite Life and Infinite Light. The Path of Purification
For those who are diligent in their practice, the process of purification is one of gradual transformation. As you continue to chant and cultivate, the pollutions within your heart are slowly removed, and the light of your true nature begins to emerge. Eventually, when all defilements are completely eradicated, you will reach . At that moment, the light of your heart will be fully revealed, shining with the same infinite brilliance as the Buddha. This state of being is in perfect alignment with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is not a process limited only to those on Earth; it is the universal path for all beings throughout the Ten Directions of the Dharma Realm who seek to attain Buddhahood through purification. Just as the beings of the Western Pure Land possess this light, so too do those who have attained the wisdom of the Buddha, all because they have received the compassionate blessings of Namo Amituofo.
