On the first day of September, 2024, Namo Amituofo offered this profound discourse on the nature of the heart and the infinite radiance that dwells within us all.
The Boundless Radiance of the True Nature
The light of your true nature is infinite. It is not a light that flickers or fades, for it is the very essence of existence. The heart-light of Namo Amituofo shines without end, illuminating the entire Realm and the vastness of empty space. This light is not confined by the boundaries we perceive with our physical eyes; it is the fundamental truth of the universe.
Beyond the Constraints of Time and Space
In the realm of the Buddha, time and space are infinite and unified. There is no past, no present, and no future; the three periods of time are all contained within this singular, infinite expanse. Everything is fused into one; there is no duality, no separation, and no end to the wisdom that flows from this state. When one realises this, one understands that there is nothing that is not known and nothing that is not complete.
The Compassionate Deliverance of All Beings
Even those beings often referred to as the demon crowds possess this inherent heart-light. However, their light is obscured by layer upon layer of heavy obstacles, leaving their hearts in darkness. Yet, when they encounter the compassionate guidance of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, the Twelve Lights of the Buddha are revealed. This golden light shines everywhere, subduing the darkness and welcoming these beings into the of Ultimate Bliss, where their veils of ignorance are lifted.
Returning to the Original Self
Through the practice of listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma, one can begin to repent for past mistakes. As the darkness gradually recedes, the heart-light begins to shine once more. When these beings see the Buddha, their inherent goodness is revealed. By practising and changing their ways, they let go of their stubborn personalities and find salvation in this very moment. The Buddha’s heart is filled with for the suffering of all beings, and His words are manifested to resolve their hardships. You need only to place your full faith in the Buddha.
The Path of Infinite Light
To rediscover your original nature and see your true self, you must commit to the path of faith and practice:
- Faith: Believe deeply in the Buddha and His vow to save all beings.
- Practice: Chant Namo Amituofo with every thought, keeping the Buddha’s name at the centre of your mind.
- Conduct: Do good deeds, speak kind words, think positive thoughts, and maintain a pure heart to allow your inner light to manifest.
- Transformation: Change your personality and remove the stains of the heart so that your mind becomes clear and the light shines forth.
- Vows: Make the vow to save all beings, for this vow aligns perfectly with the Buddha’s own vow.
- Dedication: Vow to chant Namo Amituofo and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss with a sincere heart and genuine practice.
When you vow to practise until Buddhahood is attained, your heart-light will become infinite, illuminating the three thousand great thousand worlds. Namo Amituofo.
