The Infinite Radiance of Namo Amituofo

The Radiance That Knows No Bounds

What kind of light possesses the power to shine infinitely, without end or limitation? In the sacred text, the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the Mahayana, Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Enlightenment Sutra), it is written: The light of various Buddhas may illuminate one or two Buddha-lands, or perhaps hundreds or thousands of Buddha-lands. However, only the light of Namo Amituofo illuminates immeasurable, boundless, and countless Buddha-lands. From this, we can clearly realise that it is solely the light of Namo Amituofo that possesses the capacity for infinite radiance.

A Beacon in the Spiritual Realms

This truth is profoundly manifested in the experiences shared by the beings from the demon realms who have visited the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Many of these beings have testified that, even from far beyond the skies of this Earth, they could perceive a brilliant light shining into the outer reaches of the heavens. By following this luminous path, they were able to find their way directly to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. This phenomenon perfectly aligns with the teaching that the light of Namo Amituofo shines infinitely. It serves as a living testament to the power of the Buddha’s compassion, which transcends all boundaries of space and time.

The Profound Grace of Deliverance

All members of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre should feel a deep sense of gratitude in their hearts. We must be profoundly thankful for the compassion of Namo Amituofo, who emits this light to guide and welcome all spirits. It is through this light that beings from the spiritual realms are able to locate the temple. During our Dharma assemblies, these beings receive the benefit of Chao Du, allowing them to chant the name of Namo Amituofo and find their way to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss or to be reborn in the human or heavenly realms.

Among the immeasurable and boundless beings who receive this deliverance, we find many who are deeply connected to the fourfold assembly of disciples: the ancestors and teachers of our past lives, our karmic creditors who have sought balance for past harms, attached spirits who have resided within our bodies, or beings from the demon realms who have a karmic affinity with us. All of these beings are gathered together to receive the grace of deliverance through the Buddha-light.

Embodying the Light of Compassion

All disciples of the Buddha should now awaken their own vows. You must make a firm resolution to be like the Buddha, allowing your own inner light to shine forth and illuminate the ten directions of the world. By doing so, you will walk in harmony with Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, working tirelessly to save all beings and lead them to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Let your practice be a reflection of this infinite light, ensuring that no being is left behind in the darkness of suffering.
