In the Tang Dynasty, the Great Master Xuanzang, relying solely on his own strength and the protective of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, undertook a monumental journey. He did not shrink from the distance of ten thousand miles, travelling far into the Western Regions to seek the sacred scriptures. For the sake of the , he forgot his own physical well-being. Upon his return to China, he dedicated his life to the translation of these sutras and the education of the monastic community. The treasure of the Buddha’s teachings that he left for future generations is beyond words. This legacy represents the transmission and continuation of the Buddha’s teachings, allowing countless beings in later ages to receive the benefits of the Dharma. We look upon his life with infinite reverence.
In this present time, Practitioner Su is engaged in diligent practice, working to rediscover the true self. Through the arising of and the constant blessings of , the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre has manifested in this world. Together with Namo Amituofo, Practitioner Su works to save countless suffering beings. Within this sacred space, countless beings from the spiritual realms have already been saved, including those from the demon crowds. One can clearly see the immense hardships Practitioner Su has endured in this process. At the same time, we witness the true nature of the spiritual realms, which serves as a magnificent and rare form of Buddhist education.
Practitioner Su leads the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, working tirelessly to guide the fourfold assembly of disciples toward growth. This work involves helping every disciple to develop their innate potential and to elevate the quality of one's spirit, all while striving to continue the transmission of the Pure Land path. The dedication of energy, physical strength, and endurance shown by Practitioner Su is akin to the trials of time and space that Great Master Xuanzang faced when he travelled to the Western Regions to seek the scriptures.
The fourfold assembly of disciples at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is fortunate to be able to practise diligently in this Buddha-land. This opportunity is a result of the grace of Namo Amituofo, the inspiration of Great Master Xuanzang, and the leadership of Practitioner Su. Because of them, we have the opportunity today for purification, the development and elevation of our spirits, and the chance to realise our true nature. We must also embody the spirit of travelling ten thousand miles. We must be fiercely diligent, seeking to realise our true nature as early as possible. In doing so, we continue the transmission of the Buddha’s teachings, promote Buddhist education and the Pure Land path, and help save beings from suffering and the cycle of old age and illness. By entering the state of no-age and no-illness, where the spirit never dies, we may finally enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is how we repay the kindness of the Buddhas, our teachers, our country, and all living beings.
