The Ancient Archive of the Soul
Namo Amituofo teaches us that every experience we have ever had, and every connection we have ever formed, is not lost to time. Regardless of the roles we have played or the identities we have assumed in our past lives, all these experiences are stored within the . This storehouse acts as a vast, invisible archive, recording every thought, word, and action as a karmic seed that waits for the right conditions to manifest in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
If you wish to achieve in this lifetime, you must understand that purification is an essential and unavoidable process. You cannot reach the state of a Buddha while carrying the heavy baggage of past attachments and habitual patterns. Therefore, you must commit yourself to the following steps of purification:
- Purifying -Mind-Spirit: You must cleanse your physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of all lingering impurities.
- Emptying the Mind: You must work until your heart is completely empty, free from the clutter of ego and desire.
- Transforming Consciousness into Wisdom: Only when the mind is truly empty can you find the opportunity to transform your ordinary consciousness into the supreme wisdom of an awakened being.
The Unyielding Echoes of
It is a fundamental truth of the universe that our past actions do not simply vanish. As the saying goes, even after a hundred or a thousand eons, the karma we have created does not disappear. When the conditions are right, the fruits of those actions will manifest, and we must experience the consequences ourselves. This means that even after one reaches Awakening, the and the causes and effects of karma, as well as the from our past, still exist.
However, there is a profound difference between an ordinary person and one who has realised their true nature. Because an awakened being has successfully transformed their karma, they possess the unique ability to turn these karmic conditions into affinity. Consequently, the fruits of their past actions are transformed as well. They are no longer driven by the ego-based karma of an ordinary person; instead, they act from a heart of pure Awakening.
The Unmoved Heart Amidst the Storm
When you reach this state, you are no longer pulled by the forces of karma or the demands of your karmic creditors. You have the power to influence the hearts of those creditors, guiding them toward peace. If the hearts of these creditors are not yet transformed and the still manifests, the awakened being remains unmoved. Because their heart has entered the Buddha-heart, they can transform the environment around them without being swayed by it.
Even if the physical body continues to suffer, the spirit remains pure and still. There is no manifestation of afflictions or the dark, reactive thoughts that usually accompany suffering. Because the spirit is not suffering, the practitioner can transform the experience of pain and avoid creating new, negative karma through their reactions. If one can transform the hearts of their karmic creditors, even if the retribution appears, the physical suffering is greatly lessened. It can be reduced from a heavy burden to a light one, or even naturally resolved, as the creditors find peace and the karmic debt is settled.
The Great Blessing of Compassionate Salvation
Whether or not the hearts of your karmic creditors have been transformed, and whether or not the karmic retribution has manifested, the spirit of an awakened being remains pure, still, and untouched by external circumstances. Your practice must be focused on your own heart. To become a Buddha is to achieve a state of perfect Awakening—where you are not only awakened yourself but also capable of awakening others.
This process of awakening others includes the ability to transform the hearts of your karmic creditors, allowing their own awareness to manifest. If you can achieve this level of compassionate influence, you have truly resolved the karmic conditions between you and your creditors, and you will no longer suffer the pain of the body, mind, and spirit that comes from karmic retribution. To encounter an awakened being or a Buddha is the greatest blessing for all beings. It is the moment of salvation, where you can follow the Buddha’s actions, saving yourself while simultaneously working to save all beings.
