The Radiant Origins of Our World
Eons ago, in the distant and immeasurable past, the light of the Buddha already shone upon this Earth. During that ancient time, our world was a place where every thought manifested into reality. It was known as the Land of No Worry. In this pristine state, all people lived as one, their hearts calm, peaceful, and harmonious. The world was filled with a brilliant, luminous light that touched every corner of existence.
Every face was adorned with a genuine smile. One would never encounter a face marked by tears, nor would one see the shadows of depression or the agitation of anxiety. People lived in complete security, resting peacefully wherever they chose. They could travel freely to any part of the Earth, and no matter which direction they took, or how far they ventured, they would always return home safely. There was no concern for food, clothing, or material needs, for everything one desired appeared spontaneously.
At that time, the Earth itself glowed with a vibrant, brilliant blue. Celestial beings who passed by would gaze upon this world and could not help but express their profound admiration for its beauty and purity.
The Great Transformation
However, the world began to change after a colossal and mysterious wind swept across the Earth. This event marked the beginning of a profound decline. The climate shifted, the Earth's crust began to tremble and fracture, and the oceans surged over the land, submerging vast regions beneath the waves. Consequently, the Earth was transformed, drifting further and further away from its natural state of purity and goodness.
As the environment changed, so too did the hearts of the people. The smiles that once graced every face began to fade. People forgot the meaning of unity, and their lives became confined to a world defined by the separation of you, me, and them. The human heart became burdened with anxiety and suspicion, and the capacity of the mind began to shrink.
The Decline of the Human Condition
As the connection to the true self was severed, the physical and spiritual state of humanity underwent a tragic decline. The once-long lives of the people gradually shortened, and the tall, graceful forms of the people diminished and became small. The light, gentle, and unhurried pace of life became heavy, hurried, and burdened, while the state of perpetual vitality and freedom from illness was replaced by the suffering of aging and disease.
When the people of the original Land of No Worry eventually passed away, the world was no longer the place it had once been. It had become a land of uncertainty. Living in a world filled with pain, suffering, and exhaustion, people felt they had no one to rely upon. They began to grasp tightly at whatever they possessed, seeking to protect themselves and fearing that others might infringe upon their interests.
The Path to Restoration
In this struggle for survival, people developed selfish desires and lost their original, sincere hearts. The more selfish one became, the smaller one's mind-capacity grew. Greed took root, leading to a state of perpetual dissatisfaction where one always wanted more. They forgot the importance of gratitude, allowing their hearts to be filled with discontent and anger. Lacking the wisdom to serve others, they sought only their own benefit, revealing a deep and profound ignorance.
Many times, the spirits of our ancestors and the power of nature have admonished and taught us, urging us to guide our hearts and actions toward positivity, goodness, purity, and . Yet, time and again, humanity has drifted back into old habits. Today, the hearts of people on Earth are heavily polluted and are in urgent need of purification to restore the original, natural, and virtuous state of our world.
At this critical time, the students of Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre must fulfil their responsibilities as inhabitants of this Earth. By changing your ways and engaging in the power of purification, you can rediscover your true self. Only then will you have the capacity to join Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su in the noble task of saving the world and delivering suffering beings.
