The Mysteries of Ocean Spaces
An Interview with Venerable Changgao
This is a record of an interview with Venerable Changgao, who reflects on the profound nature of spiritual deliverance within the hidden dimensions of the ocean. This interview was conducted at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on October 5, 2022.
Venerable Changgao speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Venerable Changgao. When we speak of the vastness of the ocean, we are not merely describing a body of water on the surface of our planet. We are speaking of a gateway to infinite dimensions—a realm that holds mysteries far beyond the current reach of human understanding.
The Infinite Dimensions Within the Ocean
Think about it—the majority of our Earth is covered by the sea. The depth and breadth of these waters are not just physical space; they are filled with layers upon layers of existence. Within these depths, there are countless spaces, each operating under its own laws of time and reality. When Practitioner Su performs the work of , these spaces are opened, allowing a vast multitude of sentient beings to finally obtain deliverance.
Every single day, the work of deliverance reaches into these hidden ocean spaces. In the deepest trenches, there exist massive creatures that the human eye has never beheld—beings of such immense scale that they would leave humanity in absolute awe. They have lived there for eons, dwelling within their own unique spaces, unseen and undisturbed.
The Golden Light of Deliverance
When the of Practitioner Su arrives, a brilliant golden light permeates the entire ocean. Wherever this light touches, the spirits within are instantly moved to seek salvation. They witness the radiance of the Buddha-light, and as they hear the sacred name of Namo Amituofo echoing through the depths, their spiritual nature is awakened. They realise the path to liberation, and with profound gratitude, they leave the ocean spaces behind to follow the light.
Deep within the sea, there are worlds that mirror our own—lands, mountains, and landscapes that would seem familiar to any human. If one were to step into those spaces, they would find themselves in a world entirely different from the one we know. It is all a matter of space and dimension.
The Human Body: The Ultimate Technology
Human technology is still far too limited to perceive these realities. This is why Practitioner Su often says, 'The human body is the technology of technology.' It is the absolute truth. The potential within the human body is truly infinite. By committing to the path of purification and ensuring that our six roots are pure—free from the dust and defilements of this world—we can perceive everything that current technology cannot. For the human body, this is a simple matter; one only needs to purify to unlock these latent powers.
Here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, the work of developing this human potential continues. Through constant purification and transformation, the human body can manifest incredible strength and wisdom. This is something we should all strive to learn. To witness Practitioner Su, who utilises the Body to deliver beings from infinite dimensions, is a sight that fills one with profound admiration and awe.
Namo Amituofo."
