The Restless Ocean of the Heart
The ocean of the heart is constantly stirred by waves of emotion, and there is not a single moment of true peace. This is the common state of all beings in this world. We drift endlessly through the six realms of rebirth, coming and going without direction. One must ask: when will we finally be able to calm the turbulent waters of our own hearts?
When you hear the name of Namo Amituofo rising in this world, you must wonder: from where does this sacred sound originate? It is the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. Here, the atmosphere is charged with the presence of the Buddha, providing a sanctuary for those who seek to leave suffering behind and find true happiness.
The Magnificent Presence at Hsiang Kuang
High above the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, the majestic and towering form of Namo Amituofo stands in the sky. Beside the Buddha, the Bodhisattvas Avalokitesvara and Mahasthamaprapta attend with infinite , while the ancestral masters and venerable masters stand in support. The entire assembly of the pure ocean of beings surrounds them, and a golden light shines forth, illuminating the entire Realm.
During the , celestial beings arrive in waves, riding upon the clouds. They manifest as thin, wispy clouds in the sky, offering auspicious signs to Namo Amituofo as they seek spiritual deliverance to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Upon seeing them, Namo Amituofo is filled with , for the Buddha is able to fulfill the wishes of every sentient being. This is the manifestation of the Buddha’s compassionate action.
The Internal Struggle of the Fourfold Assembly
When we look at the fourfold assembly (monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen) at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, we see that each person is chanting the name of Namo Amituofo. Yet, if we look deeper, we see that their hearts are like a stormy ocean, filled with rising waves and internal conflict. One must ask: what is the true purpose of their arrival here?
The truth is that their hearts are still tethered to the past. Their reside within their hearts, and although they know that the Western Pure Land is a place of supreme goodness, they find it difficult to let go of the grievances and hatreds of the past. These unresolved conflicts stir up waves within their hearts, creating obstacles to their practice.
The Compassionate Light of Namo Amituofo
Even amidst the sound of the Buddha-name, the light of Namo Amituofo shines upon them. The merit and the majestic power of the Buddha manifest as a pure, gentle, and radiant light. This light has the power to soothe all grievances and calm the ocean of the heart. Eventually, the practitioners are able to join in chanting the name of Namo Amituofo, and they are finally led by the Buddha into that brilliant, compassionate light.
Namo Amituofo’s compassion transforms all grievances. Do the members of the fourfold assembly (monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen) truly understand this? The celestial beings and the four sages witness this process with their own eyes and hear it with their own ears. Although the practitioners may appear to have purified their Six Roots, they have not yet fully entered the Western Pure Land. It is only through the rare opportunity to encounter Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, Practitioner Su, and the Dharma protectors—all appearing simultaneously at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—that they are able to chant the Buddha-name and successfully enter the Western Pure Land.
A Rare Opportunity for
This is a magnificent blessing that cannot be compared to anything else in the world. I urge the fourfold assembly (monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen) at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to understand the significance of this moment. This is a rare encounter, difficult to encounter in millions of years.
You must rise up quickly and engage in diligent practice. Achieve success in your cultivation here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and in doing so, you will repay the profound kindness of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su.
