The Call to Diligent Practice
Those who are truly walking the path of Living the Vows: The Direct Way to are those who have fully embraced their role as practitioners. They understand that their purpose is not merely to exist, but to actively participate in the work of salvation. Conversely, those who have not yet begun this journey are often those who have not yet clearly recognised their own roles and responsibilities within the grand design of the universe.
At Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary, every individual carries a profound responsibility. You must be diligent in your practice and work hard to find your true self. Do not let your spirit wander aimlessly, lost in the confusion of the world. Time is an incredibly precious resource here; every single second that passes is a golden opportunity to move closer to becoming an awakened being. Do not let these moments slip away in vain.
The Pillars of Purification and Goodness
Before one can reach the state of an awakened being, one must undergo a deep process of purification. Pure Goodness and a pure heart are the essential conditions required for this transformation. Goodness naturally accompanies purification, and purification is always supported by Goodness; the two are mutually reinforcing and inseparable.
You must recognise, from the depths of your heart, the vital importance of both purification and Goodness. Once you have developed this awareness, you must be willing to act—to engage in true, authentic practice. This means you must manifest:
- Pure speech, pure thoughts, and pure actions.
- Good speech, Good thoughts, and Good actions.
By aligning your entire being with these principles, you allow every cell in your body and all the beings connected to your to be immersed in this state of Goodness and purification.
The Power of the Buddha-Name
The fourfold assembly must strive to chant the Buddha's name24/7. This is the most important task for any practitioner. You must be ready to raise the Buddha-name at any moment, focusing your entire heart and mind on the recitation. When you chant the Buddha's name without a single trace of a defiled mind, it becomes the most powerful medicine of purification and Goodness available.
When you maintain this practice, keeping the Buddha-name continuous and uninterrupted, you possess the power to stop the cycle of being reincarnated. If you do not practise, your Buddha-name will be fragmented and inconsistent, making it difficult to maintain the connection to Namo Amituofo. When you reach the end of your life, how will you be able to resist the pull of your karma and avoid being reincarnated once more? How will you ensure your rebirth in the ? You must take this to heart and practise with unwavering sincerity.
