The Heart as the Source of Action

When the heart responds, action follows. The heart knows what it should respond to, and that is the Truth. A truly pure heart understands that its purpose lies in pure action, rather than in ignorance. When we speak of the heart responding, we mean that our every movement and decision must be rooted in the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. If our actions are not guided by this inner clarity, we are merely drifting through life, unaware of the true nature that resides within us.

The Trap of Worldly Distractions

The chaos of the world arises largely from the mind wandering among the dusts of the mundane world. Even when people seek the truth in this world, if their hearts remain tethered to these external distractions, they are not truly awake. We must recognise that the world is full of illusions. If we do not cultivate our hearts, we cannot know the realm of true purity. We must look beyond the surface of things, for the truth is not found in appearances, but in the clarity of a pure and awakened mind.

The Necessity of Consistent Practice

If one does not engage in the right action, there is no true practice. Even if one is a monk or a nun, if the heart is not aligned with the , one is not truly practising. We must ask ourselves: how can we achieve anything real if our hearts are not anchored in the right path? If our hearts exist only in the realm of appearances, our true nature will never be revealed. To truly practise, we must:

  • Cultivate our hearts with wisdom and virtue.Ensure our actions are in sync with our true self.Maintain a state of constant awareness, avoiding the traps of fame and profit.

The Virtue of the Benevolent

The world is filled with those who are caught up in worldly affairs. How can we avoid becoming one of them? We must strive to be a person of benevolence. A benevolent person understands the nature of change, yet does not become lost or submerged within it. When you know how to nurture your own , you will no longer sink into the pursuit of fame and fortune. Your practice must be a process of nurturing wisdom within your own heart, ensuring that your every thought and deed remains in sync with your true self.

Returning to the Light

Just as the heart of the Buddha is filled with the light of the true nature, so too must we strive to illuminate our own lives. This is the essence of our journey: to leave suffering behind and find happiness through the constant, sincere chanting of Namo Amituofo. By doing so, we return to the source of all and wisdom. Let us cherish every moment, for in the stillness of a heart that truly knows, we find the path to Buddhahood.

Namo Amituofo.
