Namo Amituofo's discourse:
My children, do you realise that every one of you should be completely free from attachments, living in a state of cool, refreshing ease? This is the absolute truth, the original, authentic face of every being, the state of an awakened being, and a fundamental part of your true self.
However, I must ask you: are you truly without attachments today? Or do you know in your heart that you should let go, yet you find yourself still tethered by invisible threads, unable to release the home or the people you cling to?
The Invisible Threads of Attachment
Even when you face the onset of old age, sickness, and the reality of death, and even if you are able to suppress your wandering thoughts to prevent past memories from surfacing, there is always something left unfinished. There are words left unsaid, or people and conflicts that have not been resolved. Because you do not know when the moment of impermanence will arrive, it becomes difficult to focus your mind on faith and the practice of chanting Namo Amituofo.
In this state, you remain very far from being truly without attachments. How can you then focus on chanting Namo Amituofo, or on the purification of your body, heart, and spirit? If you cannot achieve this focus, how will you be able to call upon the name of the Buddha with a single-minded heart at the time of your passing, and request that the Buddha manifest to lead you to the of Ultimate Bliss? It becomes even more difficult to speak of increasing your lotus grade of rebirth.
Facing the Reality of Impermanence
Even though you are currently situated in a Buddha-land, and regardless of the circumstances, you have the support of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. We are always here, ready to lead the spirits of the deceased to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. However, my hope for you, my children, is that while your physical body is still in the human world, you will suffer less.
I wish for you to truly let go within your heart, to overcome the physical suffering of illness, and to diligently chant Namo Amituofo. By doing so, you can ascend directly to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I want you to write a beautiful conclusion to this lifetime, one that is truly without attachments, and to draw a perfect circle at the end of your journey.
The Path to Final Liberation
Do not wait until the final moment to seek this freedom. Begin now, in every breath and every mental note. When you chant Namo Amituofo, let every sound be a release of the burdens you have carried for so long. By purifying your body, heart, and spirit, you align yourself with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is the only path that leads to the ultimate happiness of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. May you all find the strength to let go and return to your true home.
