My dear children,

To achieve a state of being that is entirely pure and good, one must be free from even the slightest trace of contamination or impurity. Only when you have reached this state of absolute clarity will you have the opportunity to realise your true nature and become an awakened being.

The Three Pillars of Purity

What does it mean to be truly pure and good? It is a state that encompasses every aspect of your existence:

  • A Pure and Good Heart:
  • This refers to the manifestation of your keen awareness and wisdom, leading to a state of profound meditative concentration, peace, and .A Pure and Good Body:
  • This means that your physical form and your Six Roots—the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind—are completely pure and free from any worldly defilement.A Pure and Good Spirit: This refers to the integrity of your three hun souls and seven po souls, ensuring they are complete and without any deficiency.

The Foundation of Selflessness

You may ask, is it truly possible for a practitioner to achieve this? The answer lies in your ability to let go of the ego. If you can be truly selfless and embrace the concept of , you will no longer place your own desires first. Instead, you will place the Buddha and all beings at the forefront of your heart. When you do this, it becomes much easier to maintain a state of purity and goodness.

Cultivating Stillness and Wisdom

If your heart can attain deep meditative concentration, you will not be swayed by external disturbances or the changing conditions of the world. You will be able to transcend the cycle of delusions, messy thoughts, and aimless thinking. If you find yourself having thoughts, you must immediately replace them with righteous thoughts and the intention of Goodness. Do not let these thoughts enter your to become . Instead, face every situation with wisdom and respond with clarity. By doing so, you will find it easy to maintain your purity.

Transcending the Physical and Spiritual

If your body can remain detached from sensory and emotional fluctuations, you will no longer be bound by the suffering of ageing or illness. This detachment is essential for maintaining a pure and good state. Furthermore, if your spirit can maintain the integrity of your three hun souls and seven po souls, your spirit will become solid and focused. You will not be scattered, you will not feel drowsy, and your attention will remain sharp. This spiritual stability is a vital key to preserving your purity.

The Illusion of the World

Before you reach the state of an awakened being, everything you perceive through your Six Roots—what you see, hear, touch, and think—is essentially an illusion. If you mistake these fleeting experiences for reality, you will inevitably create karma. When the causes are planted and the conditions mature, you will be forced to endure the bitter fruits of suffering. If you are caught in this cycle, how can you possibly maintain a state of purity and goodness? In such a state, there is no room for true purity to exist.

The Ultimate Refuge

All purity and Goodness are contained within the six-character name of Namo Amituofo. By learning the conduct of the Buddha, upholding your vow, and diligently working to change your personality traits, you can focus your entire heart on chanting the name of Namo Amituofo. This is the path to entering a state of absolute purity and Goodness, and it is the very opportunity you need to become an awakened being.
